Good Song

Almost sounds like a song from a movie. Good solid standard song. Recorded well. I like the fact you can hear all the parts well. Good Mix. Hard to tell exactly what influences this song sounds like...but that is a good thing. You have your own sound. You go Dude! Keep up the good music. Sincerely Edward Westbrook (Atomic Energy Society) P.S. Maybe a little Bryan Adams sounding, which is really cool.

Thoughts on "You're The Reason"

This song starts with a bouncy - happy feeling; that makes you want get up and move with the music... very nice indeed! It has a classic pop flavor with a sassy guitar backing up the song as it moves along. The drum/bass/rhythm guitar mix is right in where needs to be - again nice to the ears. The lead vocals are warm and easy to listen to, and the chorus is joyful and easy to join in with as it goes over and over with the words "You're the reason"... Very catchy - a great hook, and not a disappointment when it arrives. The dynamics of this song, with the crescendo, and then coming back down for the vocals to become more prominent , make the verses/lyrics that much more fun to listen to. As the song flows along it leads you into the refrain "I need you", with background voices taking the song up and up! As the song comes back down, the lead voice takes us home with the final verse leading to a grand chorus ... No real surprises here, but this arrangement still works well and is ear candy for sure. The only thing I would suggest is a little more cutting lead guitar somewhere in the song at the end of a verse or chorus as a short interlude leading to the next part - that would have made the song a little more edgy. The vocals on the "I need you" parts were a little on the soft side, they should come up and be more powerful! Perhaps a little organ sound as the song fades out or some guitar licks trailing off would have been the finishing touches on this wonderful song. That being said, this is a good song, and fun to listen to from beginning to end. Thanks for sharing such a well crafted song with all of us. I love your voice and your song! You're the Reason

This a solid rock track with a fitting vocal on it. The approach reminds me of a cross between Lou Reed and Brian Adams. He has the phrasing of Reed and is able to keep on the melody more like Adams. The songwriting is good, all the structure is in place and well understood. Verses, Chorus and Bridge. There is nothing flashy here, just solid basic playing, but as is sometimes the case, sometimes that's all you need.

Great song

Really good main stream pop song. A lot of influences from Bon Jovi, but If you get close to them, there is nothing wrong n, vice versa. Only one thing bothered me was down going melody in chorus, its too familiar from some where else.

nice song

I got into the so g right away .it has great potential and a good melody.I would like to mention that in the chorus the guitars and other instruments became overwhelming.a little to loud.other than that it was a real good song

Reason

Good intro like the crashing chords and the muted playing, good vocal,it sounds like a Christian song, which is good, but I think that’s where you’re going, good guitar though and good song, good mix, drums good to too,I like this song and the progression, but like I said this could be a cross over to Christian so you should shop it over to them good luck

Big Sound for Country!

Top Shelf Voice, Composition and Lyrics! Congrats! You need some serious marketing because you are made for mainstream radio. I found myself drifting back to travelling in the back seat of my parents oldsmobile station wagon on the way to hockey practice or a game and the radio playing.

Your'e The Reason

I love your unique voice Ross. You put your whole heart into your vocal, the emotions are expressed raw and heartfelt. This song called to mind the love songs of the past, like "You Are The Reason" by Air Supply and present Calum Scott's new song. I would love to hear a woman singing the chorus in a duo with you. The guitar and percussion really make the lyrics hit home to the heart, top notch! I love the added touch of the keyboard notes finale with one suggestion possibly a stringfellow on a violin or rock fiddle. Excellent. A wonderful song of adoration! Very few heard these days so as a woman I really appreciate the sentiments rarely heard expressed in this day and age.

Great track

Hi there, Ross. This track is one of the best I have ever hearsd here on N1M, and I pray to God that it is not a cover. Your voice is very good and shines through the mix in a splendid way. The balance between the different instruments are easy on the ears, and the whole production sounds great. Blessings from Norway :-)

Very Mellow and catchy tune!

'You're The Reason' by Ross Seddon is a very nice smooth rock tune. It is definitely a song that I can hear on the radio with a nice mellow feel to it as well as a very catchy chorus. I can compare it to the style of 'Mercy Me's I Can Only Imagine.

NOT SURE

Ross I don't know if you want my review or NOT but I won't post, it so here goes...First the guitars are over powering the vocal and over all you can't really understand the lyrics. Your voice is flat several times in the song and instead of a third verse you need a bridge. On the positive side the music has potential the production is quite RAW and NOT in a good way it sounds more like a DEMO. But I wish you the best song writing is a craft that takes a long time to master just keep PLUGGING away and you will get there...LEARN from all your writings what works and what does NOT.
