Dope beat
The Sam Cooke track is of course and all-time classic and such a relevant song from past folklore to definitely in today’s times! So off jump, that was very smart and catchy to keep that long intro and build on the Anticipation of the beat drop for “Thus Far”. Lyrics and flow are cool but that track is a Monsta and definitely carries the weight for this nice track by Runnin’ Rebel

Nice Beat and Concept
Runnen' Rebel, this song entitled Thus Far is a decent song. The beat is hot the way it's chopped. But, In my opinion I think the intro is too long before you finally bring the beat in. I would bring it in after the first "change going to come" verse of Sam. I also think the song should be a one verse song or if you are going to keep several verse song structure, I recommend doing a various artist collab with maybe 2 other artists. But again, doing the "3 verse song arrangement" makes the song entirely too long! I also think your vocals are too low in the mix. I can't hear your lyrics as well as one should be able to. So to sum everything up. It's a good idea and a nice track/concept. But the song itself as it is now needs some changes. Keep Pushin'.

Hommage to sampling
to be honest i recognized the song at the first beat!!! i love the way you brought it together!!!! the beat feel a lil bit chopped and scrw !! old school with a touching vibes!! every transition between the hook and the verse are very well executed! the song kepts its energy and its origins while having you on the lyrics i listened to it twice!!! by far the only thing that needs to be improved is the vocal : your vocal should be a lil bit higher becuz the voice behind are louder than your voice!! but yo not many people could do what you just do!! u kept your originality while using sample!! and dats tuff!!

Good Vibes
This is a great result of great production partnered with some lyrics. The engineering on here was well executed as well. Sound like whoever recorded this did a great job as well. I was listening to this at a family get-together and everyone agreed this is some good feeling music. You should really consider getting a website and getting music on some major platforms like Spotify, iTunes, Tidal, etc. I can help cause I am a graphic designer and can help market your music to a wide audience.

Interesting
I love the concept and the incorporation of such an iconic song . The timing and volumes should’ve been adjusted because you’ll have to listen to the song a few times to understand the lyrics with the sample in the background. Nonetheless I’m feeling it and I’m here for deep and meaningful music. Respect bro

Its ok
That's what's bro I see where you was going with this song I like the sample you used to I would just turn it down just a little bit you don't want it to clash with your verse but other then that good job ????

Uhhhhh okay...
You have a great concept but the mix, the blend, the overlay of your track was done wrong. The introduction should have been sampled rather than remixed as if done for an intentional collaboration. Plus, many greats have used the sample many a times. For example, Boosie recently released a song using this same sample. Unlike your version, Boosie respected the sanctity of the track.

My review
The intro is nice. Are u paying royalties for that sample? The intro is long. Rap style is nice. The beat is alright. The mix is alright. But this is not grammy material. U used to sample and not enough of ur own energy. Im jus sayin. Good topic. Great theme. Better luck next time.

Great effort. Good Lyrics
I understand the idea and i like the focus. The way he links his message with the energy of the classic. However, he needs more production to bring his vision to life. Great lyrics and energy can only go so far. I recommend sopping for a beat from somewhere likeBeatstars or sites like that to get a beat that makes his voice be heard better.Great Effort though.
