Sal La Rocca is undoubtedly one of the best and most coveted bassists on the Belgian scene. His already busy career has enabled him to accompany such leading international jazz musicians as Lee Konitz, Steve Grossman, Stanley Jordan, Toots Thielemans, Philip Catherine and many others. At the head of his new quartet, he comes to present us his latest album "Shifted" released in 2018 on the igloo label. The composers tend towards a libertarian and traditional music at the same time, a subtle mixture with surprising tonalities and largely Coltranian accents. Groove, swing, madness, sometimes at the limit of free. The music is good, you can see it, you can hear it, you can feel it.
And icing on the cake, the quartet will be accompanied by the French trumpeter Stéphane Belmondo who will bring a new colour to their musical adventure!All Ages
