It's an honor to be asked to review a song! I would first like to say that I am a huge jazz lover. I think this track LAZY LION is really really good. I love the Sax in this track. It is very relaxing and calming and not all over the the place. It has good order and structure to the song. It sounds like it is your passion and your love. How you express yourself in this track is outstanding. So, i will say Keep up the Good work Sal La Rocca and I would love to hear more of your outstanding talent.

Beautiful intro... as smooth as it gets! Excellent rhythms and acoustics only enhance a well developed and well authored compilation. I'm loving the sax and how it is treated throughout the piece. Beautifully smooth track. I never once lost interest as everything is very tasteful and relaxing. I'm extending KUDOS to everyone involved as it is a beautiful thing when everyone is on the same page. Would love to hear you guys live!

This track is honest and deep felt. The Sax speaks a story as you can imagine being in the wild as the King of the jungle is at peace in his territory. The piano solo extends the freedom of the arrangement with delicate and melodic gestures to accompany the Sax. The Bass solo is flavorful and adds the color to bring you into the presence of the Lion as he lays there without a concern or worry. The drums give you the rhythm of driving through the safari and all the beauty of nature. This track is sound art full of expression, painting a picture. As you listen and close your eyes and the musicians will take you on a safari of sound imagination. A wonderful track to meditate and just relax your mind and body.

Was asked to review "Sal La Rocca" by Lazy lion. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. This song reminded me of walking down the streets in my home town of Santa Ana. Taking an afternoon walk to the mall to meet up with my lovely lady. Then just hanging out together at south coast plaza, going from store to store with her holding my hand and leading the way. Very beautiful song. Great recording. Love the sax and drums.

Dear Lazy Lion, I can say after listening to your song? It was the best thing that happened to me today, I lived a stressful day at the end deserve better rewards: enjoy Lazy Lion. Perfect arrangement, perfect combination of instruments, a wonderful double bass solo, a drum performed masterfully, piano coordinating the performance of all musicians while still highlighting their own performance. The delightfully present sax! And most of all, a beautiful song performed magnificently. Why is no use instruments well executed if the song is not beautiful enough. You could put together a beautiful song, masterful arrangement and excellent musicians. The only remains for me to thank for the pleasure of hearing him. Greetings, Lazy Lion! And my respects ...

What can I say, another great piece from Sal La Rocca. Growing up as a young boy I lived next to Sandys Jazz Studio Revival, I would always hang out and around this place (even on the roof as I was too young to get in) the place would attract a lot of big names, and the music pouring out of the doors of this place attracted me like a moth to a light.... wish it was still there, so I could sit inside and watch these guys tear up a room til the wee hours of the night, my only hope is they come "State-side" so I can see this happening for real ( Chiantis of Beverly maybe?). for no I resign myself to these great recordings, thank you and keep up the good work! If you haven't heard them yet, what are you waiting for and if you are listening to them now, like I am, I'm sure you'd agree with me. Sal La Rocca is where its at, I need more!

Overall, this was a well composed piece. The only thing I hear is the cymbals being a little to crashy mid-way in the track. which distorts the mood of the track. A closed hi-hat could be sufficient in place of the cymbals. Keep up the good work!

Sal La Rocca....I could listen to your music all Day if I could. I now have you on my favorite list. Your style reminds me of Dave Burbeck with the smooth saxophone and in the pocket drums kicking back and forth. Your Bass solo at the 4 minute mark was excellent. I am also a Bass player and can feel your soul in it. I also play tenor saxophone and can relate to everyone playing including the drums which I also play. I like it ALL, and will share your site with my jazz loving friends. I gave you a 5 cause I loved it, man. Keep up the good work and Best Wishes to you in your music adventure.

I listen to a lot jazz artist I put this tune ( Lazy Lion ) up there with some of the Great Artists such as ( John Coltrane,Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock )

I find myself totally engaged in what in listening to. Sal writes some very inspirational jazz that comes through in such a flawless style and expertise in his art. I truly appreciate the passion in the writing as well as the musicianship within. Like I said before I only wish this artist would perform somewhere in southern California and I'll be there to applaud as loudly as I possibly can! Great vision!!
