A metaphysical birth, growth, and life of powerful musical expression. It was both simple and complex. The group is tight and together. The sax player was electric and alive. They gave us something to savor and chew on. Keep the power coming and push it to the limit.

It’s nice that we have artist such as yourself staying true to the tradition!! I enjoyed listening to the skillfully performed and composed song shifted! This angle sounds as though you’ve got a lot of experience performing. This piece gives me some associations to Joshua Redmans music. Groovy and refined, and the interaction between the musicians is impeccable. The jumpy, rapidly moving bass from start makes me wanna dance. Changing of beats gives the listeners some challenges, which is pleasant at least for somewhat advanced ears. Sounds like the musicians are having really fun midways through the piece. Nice job!

Sal La Rocca does not need my review. He is doing very good, even in comparison to the big musicians of modern jazz today and the early ones. This music is a very intense, well constructed and excellent performer. The overall sound is very good, reminding me of the great bebop musicians. In this piece, I can hardly say what level of quieter, and slow- lyrical they are able to perform, but with the high performance they showing up, I am sure they are certainly able with. I really would like to hear.

Excellent work. This song has a sassy uptempo flavorful rhythmic balance that s so lovely. I Love the zest in it and the excellent blend of instrumentation, the horn playing is urban contemporary and gives it that wide variation of deep vibes. I really enjoyed listening to this piece, I would have loved to enjoy it live. I'm sure it is smoking. Great job. Best wishes in your future music endeavors. TC

It is definitely a Jazz piece. It starts off with a beat of a riff with a combination of the piano and saxophone and builds with a percussion with the bass rolling along in the background that continues throughout. It definitely has some moving vibes with bit of running character. That being said I would imagine an intense moment in a scene or a movie that would seem to keep you moving. Intense! Nicely done. Nice jazz mix with some funk. Theres a jazz club i like to go to from time to time and i could definitely see people enjoying this. You composed this very well. Nice job. look forward to hearing more.

Thank you Sal La Rocca for asking me to review “Shifted”; a fine piece of music pushing the envelope of structure to another dimension. These are not random notes thrown into the air to see how they land; the instruments are connected at various levels, and some are easier to understand than others. Thelonious and Miles would have loved “Shifted”. Progressive Jazz takes a mastery of one’s instrument unknown to most humans, and I enjoyed the quality of the music and the mix. This music can take a lifetime to perfect, and absolute perfection can never be reached. Maybe that’s part of its appeal. Sal La Rocca has produced as perfect an example as my mind can handle, and I highly recommend “Shifted”.

Wow the first thing I noticed was how well this was mixed. I could hear all the instruments clearly. There was a space for all of them to come in and be a part of the track! It kept the listener engaged. It might be nice to have maybe a soft bridge to calm the mind towards the end and then bring it back to a fast tempo. Just an idea.

I am loosely described as Jazz but actually I am just smooth jazz, easy listening. This is not the type of Jazz that I would normally choose to listen to. It is what I would describe as heavy, as in Heavy rock. However, the beginning grabbed my attention straight away and drew me into the a world with cleverly orchestrated waves of sound that all flowed so well together. I found myself on a train that kept moving and kept my interest right to the end. The sultry middle part with the horns is incredible and I wonder how it is even possible. I listened 3 times and each time I like it more. I am sure real Jazz enthusiasts will love this, it will give them everything they love about Jazz. It’s groovy full of twists and turns. Alors, je ne suis pas une experte mais il me semble que vous êtes un groupe de musiciens accomplis! C'est une composition très éclatée et dynamique . Elle est exécutée avec brio...je vous félicite pour votre excellent travail. J'aurais aimé y entendre un bref passage avec une sonorité plus lourde ou plus grave, question d'amener un contraste plus frappant.

This style is quite new to me, sounds good with backing of fast percussion, and guitar strings, melody is very unique with plenty of variations on notes and tempo, the mixing is good as well as the recording quality.Overall a good composition to be played in the background on busy floors.

Dissonance, , a search for light, chaos, yet, holding on a tempo, a touch, a feeling, a dissonance of time and space being explored. Yet sort like life, a dance, kinetic dance, modern dancer on the move, over and over and over and over, , find a just place, ya, just place to resolve conflict, from my past , a dancer, musician knowing the chaotic life, a big breath, big one, relief, a sexy lady, sooth my soul, life giver, we need, yet we search for more, , then a chaotic balance, held on by the drum of the heart beat, ya, the drum of the heart beat and the soul of tempo blues, ya, great stuff

I want to congratulate you !! the song Shifted have everything that a jazz song with excellent improvisation and solos, can have. Both the solo of Sax, the acoustic bass, the piano and the drums, have a virtuosity worth mentioning. the mixture is not very clear, and you lose a bit to enjoy it fully. It's an excellent job, congratulations !!

A for Production and Performance !!! :-) I simply can't say enough about my sincere LOVE and appreciation of and for the gorgeous Artform of improvisational jazz... Shifted is certainly an appropriate title for this bit of Jazz goodness. I particularly enjoyed the unorthodox use of percussion driving the song all the way. This almost sounds like a jam session where some talented musicians just started playing and got quite a groove going. I can’t wait to hear more from this artist!
