your great song review

Here I am, thank you so much for sending to me your song for review, wow, what a great piece of music this is, with that off beat and complicated beat, it reminds me from an old band from Italy I used to enjoy a lot, very nice thought, the sound is great, it sounds so like dry and everything sounds tight and very punchy. The Trombon solo is great and the sax too, I like the fact that this type of music ist not often made and I had a great time listening to it more times to get the real feel of it. The contrabass is great, as well those drums sounding in the back very well placed and played.! Keep it up man! Many greetings from Germany, Alfredo from King Mambo

A really nice lifting groove with wonderful horn solo. Some definite talent on these instruments making for a frenetic fusion of sound. Much in the style of Usef Latif and Coltraine. I look forward to more from Sal La Rocca!

Jazzy, tight, and cool...

This is unmistakably jazz, tight, and cool. I could say it is even stoic to be away from "pop" music in all aspects. Not all listeners here may not be able to appreciate this straight-ahead jazz style. Yes, I do. I may say if you could add an upright bass solo part the piece would have a little room to change its mood of tension where you can add more of a floating space among the other rather high-density notes. Anyway, great!

Great music Salvatore. You are a real composer, your music has a meaning in terms of translation of humours or feelings. I love this orchestration with the use of Wurlitzer Trombone and Saxophone . Good luck and keep faith . You got it and use it with talent and perfect partnership ! I wish that you still write and record your compositions as long as you can find a label trusting in your creations . Brother hold the bass Line !;))

Classic Jazz at it's best

Helpful

Congratulations to Sal La Rocca with this one. I was inspired by the sound and the feel of this classic jazz track. Mixed very well with the 50's feel and the setting as well as the trumpet work and the upright string bass and rest of the instrumentation on this one are great. It has a old time jazz feel that brings back the memories of jazz back in the day. A well done recording. Keep up the great work !!!

Very nice Jazz composition - Music style is kind of special - sophisticate but popular - Solo Instruments are well played and rythmical and also very well suited with arrangement which is very rich with lot of very sophisticate well played instruments - In my opinion this composition have all attributes to prosper in the genre of Jazz music - So go for it - This is great work - Keep on and do more of this fantastic music - Thank you I enjoy...

Straight Up Jazz Music

An opening drum figure is followed by a repeated lick on the saxophone. The trombone comes in with some tight unison playing with the sax and bone. This is a well recorded effort. The trombonist exhibits some influences from Craig Harris. There is also some electric keyboard accompaniment leading to a saxophone solo. I only wish the drums were a bit more full and decisive. The tune returns at the end to a fade. This is music that will continue to grow with roots in Ornette Coleman and more recent offerings of jazz.

Bonjour !!!

Cache-Cash

The theme played by the saxophone and trombone supported by the impeccable groove of the bass and drums is really pleasant. Cache-cash is a modal piece that allows the personality of improvisers to express themselves fully on this rhythmic accompanied by some touches of wurlitzer ...

Just listened to Cache and thoroughly enjoyed it. Musically the composition is well constructed and performed. I also appreciated the interaction of the musicians who demonstrate listening to each other. This is the essence of jazz improvisation.

Before I get to review Sal La Rocca and its Cache-Cash, I need to say that my opinion, in general, is that the Jazz nowadays and before is too much showing up technic, rather than composition. So, the review takes the Cache-Cash from itself point of view. This piece’s sound provides sort of originality, mainly out of the Trombone and Saxophone. Both have a “semi-tone” improvisation approach that in my ears sound somewhat refresh performance. In addition, when both are playing together they bring very nice chording (in two parts), yet in limited progression. However, the improvisation is very updated in using outside-tones, which I love. I could tell that the major filling is an ostinato, maintain by the drums and bass. It is very common in Jazz, but yet something works original.

Nice tune

Good groove to this track. The solo's are nicely done. I am interested in finding out the names of all of the musicians playing on this. I really liked the trombone solo and dig the drums on this.
