Hey everyone,
I hope you and your families are keeping safe and well during this time. I wanted to reach out to send some love to you wherever you maybe during this lockdown.
In 2005, I released my debut project, ‘Splendid Isolation’. The title track deals with the subject of being set apart / separated by God for Him to do the work of growing us into the person He’s destined us to be. At first, this process feels uncomfortable as we fear the uncertainty of familiar things, places, routines (and maybe people) being stripped away to create the space for us to grow, be better, stronger, wiser. Once we begin to understand what’s unfolding, this space of isolation becomes ‘Splendid’.
As we face this current pandemic, with all its uncertainty and change, our isolation and separation from the norm has become a place of reflection, refreshing and revitalisation as we prepare for what’s next in our lives. Indeed, we are in a splendid space to do this!
With this in mind, I wanted to share this song
again with a new and different presentation. I’m excited to be able to do this with my 18 year old son, Morgan, on drums and co-producing this with me. Shout outs also to Luke Francis on keys, Darren Henry on bass and Raph Williams for the mix. Special thanks to Josh Carr at Three Counties Media for visually expressing the intent of the song.
