Fall Is Here.... Seasons Are Changing.... New Energy..... New Thoughts.... New Breath.....

Well... Spring is here, but in the NYC area it is still cold and rainy. April kind of came and went in a flurry of rain, chill and more rain and more chill... Hope you are well and safe from Covid, wherever you are!

One thing I love about spring is the incredible bloom of all the trees. Here there are magnolia's, flowering pear, ornamental cherry, dogwood and more. They light up the streets and leave a delicious scent in the air.

Musically I have exciting news! Since late December of 2021 I have been involved in a great little jazz club in Irvington, NJ. I did the website, the facebook page and soon will have an instagram page up.

The music happens every Friday and so far, we have had some FABULOUS musicians and singers! Please check out our Facebook page and like and follow us! Every now and then I post a few photos and videos on there.

We would love your support! As far as my music goes, I have a new single out and next month I will share it in my newsletter with a little history behind it....

Hello March!

Dear Friends and Music Lovers....
I send this video to you with my apologies for not being in touch. The world events have just frozen me and I am feeling so very lost. It absolutely hurts me to the core what Russia is doing to Ukraine and her people. I try to accept it, but as the days pass and the climate crises looms ever more present, I just try to keep breathing and doing what I can to keep my spirit up. I wrote this poem in 2000 and Pam Purvis decided to bring it to Slovenia to create what you are hearing now. Her musical partner and husband, Bob Ackerman, wrote the music. She did a great job with the poem and every time something awful happens I share it. Since there are some really awful things going on, I share it with you. This, along with my music and other poems are on my You Tube Channel (expired link) All I can say is I hope the people of Ukraine will withstand the terror of this invasion and humanitity and huwomanity will get it together soon to stop killing each other. THANK YOU so very much for listening, responding and enjoying my music. I live in NJ, but super close to NYC. Throughout the pandemic things have changed so drastically it's difficult to recognize the beautiful city of my birth.

In the early days of covid, there were literally NO PEOPLE on the streets and that is quite amazing considering there are 17 million people who live and work here and 8 million who live actually live here.

Jazz is a music that doesn't have all the bells and whistles of energetic electric rhythms and svelte dancers gliding all over the stage. It's a music that is subtle, and even though emotional the harmonic beauty of chord progressions and delicate lyrics make it a music for the people who appreciate timeless swing and music that is complex and invigorating.

I plan to try and send out an email more in the coming months so I hope you will stay subscribed and enjoy continued listening.

Since Covid I have been laying low. I'm sorry to say I am not one for Zoom concerts, so I have been creating merch and working on videos. I did make a video for Sting's tune FRAGILE with John Dimartino on piano. I have the "You Tube" link below. I hope you enjoy it. I seriously hope the world can get it together and finally get rid of the dreaded Covid 19 and I hope to be recording again soon. Wishing you health and joy in the coming season!

I love my music-making adventures, and recently have embarked on creating "merch" to promote the music (and me!) Although I haven't had a "hit" record, I enjoy recording and have recorded a few different styles. Jazz, Poetry, Healing Meditation Music. As an Astrologer and Tarot Card reader since the early 70's, I have studied human nature, myth and archetypes and I incorporate the information and ideas in those traditions in the "merch". Since Covid has derailed all live performance activities I have been focusing on building and developing my merch store! This for me is the greatest thing since sliced bread!

If you know me, you know I love taking photographs of street scenes, graffiti, unusual visuals, flowers, and the list goes on. Over the years I have also been painting with acrylics and found objects. This all started "way back when”.

Soon, I began putting my poems on canvas, pillows, found wood, construction materials, windows, recycled handbags, and other found materials.

So... Here comes 2020, Covid 19, and everything comes to a halt. What does a jazz singer do with no gigs? She improvises!

At the moment I have tee shirts, hoodies, facemasks, pillowcases, mugs, and a few bling type things. I will be expanding my line as the days go by. Since I am not a frontline care provider, I doubt if I will be getting the vaccine anytime soon. This will mean I will have time to create more designs! Even after things get back to normal (whatever that is) I expect to be finding ways to incorporate my designs, poems, and photographs into usable items that will serve a good purpose.

I hope you enjoy checking out my music and my merch and will support my creativity! I love tee shirts and hoodies! They do have more colors to choose from, but for now, I have stuck with basic black. Going forward I will be uploading more colors, so if you want a shirt, but want a different color, let me know. I will create something just for you!

Also.... some of the designs allow for CUSTOM TEXT so if you need something custom, let me know and I will do my best to make it happen for you!
