Thoughts on "Dying As I'm Flying"

This song's beginning is captivating - the pulsating rhythm and the rhythm guitar invite s the listener to follow ... the lead vocals are strong and soar above the music . The words to this song make you think, and I posted the lyrics as the music played so I could get the meaning of this incredible song. For anyone used to simple songs that don't require much reflrection, this song was the "exception to the rule" ! It's the kind of song that has lyrics that you want to hear over and over until they sink in. The idea of "dying while I"m flying" is a most clever way of stating the Christian's call to die to sin and this fallen world; while at the same time soaring like an eagle towards our heavenly home... That is pure poetry in motion. Very nice indeed! The breaks, and arrangement of this song make the song anything but dull or predictable. Not too many changes, but just enough to keep me enjoying the song's journey from beginning to end. The lead guitar licks thrown in on the corners, allowing for a short repose are the embellishments that distinguish a so-so mediocre song, from a song that is a cut above the rest. That being said, I must say this is a song I could listen to over and over not just for the overall sound and arrangement; but because the words are so clever. I love this song, and think it reveals your collective abilities and talents all conversing into one beautiful and powerful musical creation... Beautiful to the max. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful song with us. Great song, and I"m blessed by hearing it... In Jesus Name, Michael D'Aigle/fool4christ

Dying As I'm Flying

A great jam with a great back-beat and an ace song lyric. Dying to self. A song about transformation and rebirth. A song about homecoming to heaven. A very unique song writer and an anointed vocalist. Not trite but true. A bit long, however, the repetition is needed for the novelty of the words to sink in and make the right impression of this personal journey in The Kingdom that is not of this world.
