Lisa J Aston Creative writer - Songwriter –Musician – Author - Supporter of Animal Rights Music is and always will be my first love. Voice is a natural gift and being blessed with an 'ear', has allowed me to self-teach multiple instruments. Since I was five years old, I knew I wanted to sing and write. As a child, I learned violin and as a teenager went on to learn rhythm guitar. In my late teens/early twenties, I played the clubs of Sydney entering talent competitions and winning with my original songs. I went on to teach myself bass guitar and toured in the early 80’s as the bass player with highly acclaimed WA band – The Girls. When I released my debut CD in 2000 titled 'ANGEL HEART the single of the same name was picked up by Republic Productions, a Sydney based music publisher headed by the cream of Australia's music industry. That song alone, led to the signing of a full blown publishing agreement. More tracks off the album proved very successful in Romania, France and Belgium. The first track - Restitution, was 'discovered' on MySpace and secured as the opening title track for U.S. soap opera LEGACY HILL. In 2011, Restitution also took out silver in the Best Original Global Song Competition. Another of my songs 'Back to You' was selected as Ambassador for Life Matters 2 U, a pro life organization based in Bendigo, Victoria, Australia. Another track 'Right where you Belong' was the flagship for a fundraising campaign by Gunyah Animal Healing Sanctuary in Yarraville, Victoria and my new single 'You' was the campaign song for Wildlife Warriors Fundraiser, sponsored by Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo and more recently, as the theme for Australian Orangutans.org on their global video featuring legendary Australian actress – Cornelia Frances. 'My Daddy, My Hero' was a very special song which I penned for the Heroes for Children Trust in the U.K. which provides support and finance for kids who have lost a parent through service. In January 2015, my country track 'Maybe Baby' won Best Country Song in the Akademia Music Awards. I am a full APRA member and AMCOS associate member.
