Doc Robinson

In addition to being the bass player, Doc is the leader of the band. He has been a Bay Area staple in the music industry for over 30 years as a lead vocalist and frontman, drummer and guitar player. This project has always been a life long dream and it has finally come to fruition. Doc says "Stratify is not your typical contemporary jazz band. We're fun, funny and funky. Our shows consist of great music a lot of laughs and great crowd rapport. That was my vision and I am grateful to have like minded players".

Michael MJ Jackson

MJ is the newest member of the band with a funky backbeat and solid groove. MJ has 25 plus years of performing under his belt and in addition to Stratify, he is the drummer for the funk/R&B band Touch of Class.

Robert Bance

Robert is the musical brains of Stratify. His creativity and love for the legendary George Duke, give Stratify the edge you hear in their music. Their signature rendition of "I Can't Go For That", delights the crowd as Robert comes from behind the "mothership", and breaks out his keytar. Epic funk!

STORY BEHIND THE SONG: RAIN * is about loss. Loss of a home, a job, a family. Over the years I have had jobs that I was laid-off or let go. Supporting a family or just paying your bills, well sometimes there is just not enough to go around. You can lose it all. I lived that experience in my life, that is what this song is all about.
