One of the finest guitarists on the London circuit with a unique textural style who is equally at home playing jazz as heavy rock, Simon Herriott first stepped up as frontman in Hertfordshire-based bands The Unknown and The Secrets before forming Colvex in late 2001. Alongside Gav, Simon is the driving force behind Colvex’s eclectic songwriting and believes firmly in the importance of strong melodies and harmonies in his music. Simon also takes the lead behind the mixing desk with an impressive talent for producing, and is responsible in no small measure for the the overall sound of Colvex’s stunning début album.
A drummer who packs a punch, but who firmly believes in playing for the song, Gavin Richardson mans the engine room of Colvex with passion. Having first met Simon when forming The Secrets back in 1994, the two have struck up an enduring musical partnership that continues to flourish, so it was natural that he jumped at the chance to get behind the kit when Simon invited him to join Colvex in 2001. A prolific songwriter in his own right, Gav lauched his own site Ultrasoundz.com in 2003 to showcase his extra curricular material, and has had success with his work placed in TV soundtracks. With a keen sense of the importance of the band's presentation, Gav is also Colvex's self-appointed manager, ensuring the group controls it’s own destiny.
