Blondie Doesn't Do It Better

I'm astonished this is self released. Seren Skies should be supported by a recording contract. She has a fantastic voice with tons of character. This song, "Just Wasn't Enough," reminds me a lot of Sunday Girl by Blondie off Parallel Lines, which is one of my top 3 albums of all time. Seren Skies is now my very favorite artist from Australia. I just cant get enough.

sounding great

really enjoyed this tune, & your vocal reminds me of Belinda Carlisle and the song has that throwback 80s souhd too which is awesome and would be cool if this style made a comeback maybe you will be the one to do that

Good one

And yet another dope song. You speak of pain but it is undetectable in your songs which says you get up, dust yourself off and keep moving. Its not played out dramatics like you would think. it is pretty incredible how you come across the way you do talking about the things you talk about, your lyrics say "I've been through hell" but your your music as a whole says "but I survived." people don't wanna hear about how someone gets knocked down, they want to hear how someone got back up and I applaud you. keep bangin!

sounds good

i like the fact the it's original you have your own lane to drive in so keep straight and don't turn for anyone i think there a market for your music you should try and sell some of your song to mainstream artist stay true peace. CaNy Entertainment

Country Voice, Phrasing, Production, Filler Orchestration, Drums drop out a bit too often without purpose. Good Bones.

Helpful

You got the bones of a song here. Sounds like a basic demo. Here's my suggestions: Backing Vocals. Filler parts that glue sections, the places the drums just stop, make it sound like they lost the track for a sec, that need to be addressed, if they drop out, make it for a reason and fill it with something or put in a build but not so often. The intonation is good enough most of the time. The vocal phrasing could be worked on. The "Quality" of the sound is good. The voice could use some thickening. Visit the melody for some "catchiness" improvements. And finally enjoy the song writing process.

Just Wasnt Enough review

I like this song reminds me of new wave band Blondie, the vocals are good, and the arrangement is simple but works well for this song, the mix is clear you can hear everything, maybe it could do with some backing vocals to lift the song a bit and a guitar solo would sound good too, keep up the good work.

Great Drive for Dancing

Helpful

Nicely constructed with a great flow. Knowing a few folks from down under, I can see this song being a hit with the dancing crowd. It has a perfect beat and rhythm for some swing dancing. If that's what you were shooting for you hit it. Thanks and keep up the good work!

Your Song "Just Wasnt Enough"

Helpful

Very good musicians and recording and with the vocals telling a great but sort of a sad story of a break-up but still don't seem too mad about it and have the situation being right in your pocket. The Band being spot on the breaks and changes. This is definitely in the Rock/Alt/Pop field with a little bit of 80's style of singing reminds me of Blonde and just might be enough to be played on today's radio in rotation with all the top players. Nothing out of the ordinary

II don't like giving bad reviews to people because they obviously have put there hearts and souls in there music. But I think its important to be honest so that the artist can learn from that and improve. This song is no more than mediocre at best. The voice is monotone, the music banal and extremely forgettable. It is the kind of song you hear thousands of times on sites such as this.It is hard to believe that you want this song reviewed. But if you are asking real people to give honest opinions then you might be unpleasantly surprised by the response.I am sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings but this is not good music at all

Not bad

This reminds me of Belinda Carlisle from the go-go's. It is a little outdated but definately not shut the song off three seconds into the song outdated. The lyrics are a little on the basic side of things but this day in age, sadly it is to be expected.

Nice groove. I like how the rythm switches up. You remind me a little of one of my favorite rockers of all time. That voice reminds me of pat benatar. Job Well done. Keep persuing your passion.

Thanks for sharing your track and looking for some feedback about it. I think the lyrics are very beautiful and relatable to most people. Your voice is beautiful to carry out such lyrics. I can dig it. Keep up the hard work and powerful lyrics.

music

thank you for the support i really like your music it could've been a little more bass in it.But over all i like it.I think the bass would've make it more like yea that's it.But you have my support regardless of what that's what it's about. You have so many people trying to sing, rap etc.The real one's that no how to sing or rap don't get a chance sometime. It be them one hit wonder that you never here from again.

Nice Production!

Very nice production! I also like the writing. It would have rounded the song out better if more time was spent on the vocal. It sounded as if she was going through the motion of singing it without giving us the feeling and emotion. You are doing good, keep going and make us believe what your singing. Pop for sure

Catchy tune and relaxing to listen to. Vocals are fair but need some work. At times vocals are unintelligible, so need to work on cleaning up the vocals a bit. Not sure if the artist is responsible for the music, lyrics, production or what but overall it is a decent song.

Like it was meant to be!

So got to say i like the 1980's sound of the song maybe because I'm over 30 but still had my interest right away and than surprisingly got me hooked with catchy lyrics and awesome changing verses that make the song original and fun to listen to. i personally enjoyed it, it was recorded nicely and vocals are good and also in tuned with the songs spirit witch i really like, seems it all falls into place like it was meant to be. great job and keep it up!

Great track would kill for backing vocals! Another great job miss Skies.

I love how this song started bright and fresh and very much how it upped a step on the second verse. I think your vocals on the second verse were spot on but on the first were a bit weak. Nice little break between the verses also it broke them up a bit. where you start hitting your chorus I could hear little bits of backing vocals in my head there that would make the song a 100 times better. Loved the breakdown with it's freaky little instrument going on there that was magic. Almost like a solo but not quite but I do think you picked the right sound there it stopped a bit short though before the vocals came back in.
