Finally back in the Studio to start recording tracks for my next album which is due for release later this year. The album will be a mix of my own songs plus a couple of covers and a couple of songs written by good friends of mine.
The working title of the album is '80' which reflects my age this year. I really feel so privileged to still be recording!
Plans are afoot to release a couple of the tracks as singles during the year, so keep on watching for that.
Also, Cindy Hall, who has had fantastic success with both of my songs that she has released to date, is going back to the Studio in Nashville to record three more of my songs, the whole lot being released eventually as an EP. Her recording of my song BETTER WORLD has been streamed over 1.4 Million times to date, and her current release, CANDLE IN THE WINDOW is climbing steadily with over 140000 plays since its release just 4 months ago. You can listen to both of them on my N1M songlist.
a GALLON OF WHISKEY continues to give me even more reasons to smile and I have entered the song for a couple of Awards so keep your fingers crossed for me please.

Hi Everybody, thank you for your continuing support which is really appreciated. Lots going on at the moment in my music world! My latest album, "Dreams Of A Dreamer" is going well with a lot of very positive feedback on the tracks. Nashville singer, Cindy Hall, who achieved over a quarter of a million plays with my song "Better World" has recently released another of my songs, "Candle In The Window" which is already clocking up an impressive number of streams and plays, and which you can find on my N1M page. Also, at the moment, I'm working on my next album which is due for release in the Fall. Together with Michael Wayne Dill I have written a new Christmas song which is due to be recorded next Spring for release in time for Christmas 2024. The song, called "It's Christmas Time", was commissioned by a UK charity. Plenty to keep me busy making more music for my fans!

Back in May 2019, I was staying with my good friend Ted Sidelinger In Nashville and one morning I wrote the lyrics to "A Better World". Later that day I visited my friend Sandy Smolen and showed them to him and a short time after that Sandy came up with the melody. The rest, as they say, is history. Cindy Hall recorded the song at Funhouse Studios under the watchful eye of producer Ernie Rowell and the new recording was officially released on the SJM label on 4th June 2021. All royalties on that recording were to be donated to charities supporting the sustainability of our planet and accordingly the song was released on World Environment Day, June 5th 2021.
We set an ambitious target to reach ONE MILLION plays/streams within the first year. With a couple of weeks still to go we have achieved that target and more.
I cannot thank everyone enough who has been involved in any way, including everyone who has helped to reach the target by sharing the song on their Social Media sites.

Sheer Joy Music are celebrating the 46th World Environment Day with the official release of the song BETTER WORLD sung by Nashville artist, Cindy Hall. The song was written by Colin Gordon-Farleigh & Sandy Smolen and its message centres around how we need to build a better world for the future and everyone must play a part in doing this.
All royalties from the song will be donated to environmental charities and those to benefit will be WWF, Oceana and Trees For The Future.

Sheer Joy Music (SJM) is a small Indie label with a big heart for Music, covering a variety of genres including Country, Classical Crossover, Jazz and Pop. We represent the music of lyricist/composer/singer Colin Gordon-Farleigh in particular, his songs being sung by a variety of artists such as Lauralei, Samantha Link, Grace Bawden, Darren Mullan and several Country artists.
About Colin Gordon-Farleigh:
Born in Corsham, Wiltshire in the UK, in 1943, I began writing poetry when I was just eight years old and have had several collections of my poetry published over the years. An ordained Minister in the Presbyterian Church of Wales, I have written several hundred Hymns & Worship Songs, particularly over the last twelve years. In 2006 I wrote my first song as opposed to the latter, and the first album of my work was released under the title of that song, 'When I'm With You', sung by Susan Marrs. That was in 2007, and since then I have written with a variety of co-writers and there are several albums of my music available.
Perhaps my biggest songs to date are 'If Only I Had Wings' which is due shortly to be recorded for the 7th time; 'When I'm With You'; 'Forever Friend'; 'What Did You Mean' ; 'Wild Horses (Beneath A Raging Moon) and 'A Country Kind of Guy'.
Many of my songs have featured high in the various Charts both in the UK and in the USA, and I have won awards for several of them.
I'm always interested in finding new partners to co-write with, and you can catch up with me on Facebook to make initial contact.
In 2017 I moved to the other side of the microphone to record three songs for a charity fundraiser, and did so as a Bluegrass Traditional Country singer. My album, 'A Little Bit Country' has been well received, and so in 2018 I will be back on Music Row in Nashville to record a full album which will be a mixture of some favourite covers plus some of my own songs.
