About Showdown Boulevard
Showdown Boulevard was formed in 2012 by former members of other Italian rock scene bands such as Jailhawks, Warnipples and A-PON74.
Singer Stevie and bassist Andy (previously already together in A-PON74) started writing the debut album then completed with the entrance of Manguss on guitars. The first eponymous album was released in September the same year for the label Lady Music Records.
Following the album got promoted by Two Side Moon agency from Swansea, Wales in the UK, receiving great reviews on the specialised press.
In December the band released an EP proposing some of the debut album’s tunes rearranged in an acoustic version, the remix of the track “Down On Showdown Boulevard” and a cover of Bangles’ hit “Walk Like An Egytpian”.
But it’s the previously unreleased new track “Catch Me If You Can” that shows to the audience the new musical direction the band was taking.
In 2013 the new project comes to light entitled “Face The Challenge” promoted and distributed by Sinners&Saints Records. Guitars are heavier and electronic elements debut in the band’s sound range.
Before starting to work on a new album (meant to be released within 2018 indicatively) Stevie Anders and Manguss leave the band while Showdown Boulevard sign a deal with BBHells Records based in Perugia (Italy). This deal will have both band and label working on the distribution and promotion of all the material already released by the band, focusing on a ri-edition of “Face The Challenge” enriched by a new bonus track called “Evolution Haters”, and debut-album “Showdown Boulevard” new release, scheduled for July 15, 2016.
A new line-up with Giorgio Dek (vocals), Dany Moneta (guitars), Andy Pontremoli (bass) and Francesco Corato (drums) recorded the new album "While Winter's Coming" out on 2018, Oct. 12 via House of Rock Records: a decisive return to classic rock, the genre that most belongs to the band's members
The band is currently recording a new album, while it has released in recent months the cover of the Wham! classic "Last Christmas" (with all proceeds donated to Meyer Foundation of Florence, Italy) and the acoustic version of the ballad "Tomorrow" originally included in the "While Winter's Coming" album.
