A versitile gospel artist with sounds and lyrics that will touch your heart and also cause you to tap your feet, blending the traditional sounds with new school flavor. "She has been singing since she was old enough to make a sound," says her mother, Deniece Gore.

Born in Camden New Jersey on the sixth day of July 1978, she is Shyrita Washington, the youngest of three children.

She comes from a family of ministers that goes back to her grandfather who is now a Bishop and her mother who is a Pastor.

Singing at her grandfathers church is where she got her first chance to sing in front of a congregation.

By the age of fifteen, she had become the choir director at,"Love of Christ Church of Faith," where her mother Pastored.

After two years of that, her mother encouraged her to write her own material. With that in mind, she began to write. She now has a number of songs written in the genre of Gospel.

In June of 2000, she performed a song she wrote entitled,"Open Your Eyes," in the,"USA Talent Search," held in Delmar Delaware. She won first place for her category and also the overall prize.

Within the same month, she sent this song off to the,"Coca Cola True Talent Artist Search,"hoping to be chosen as one of the eight contestants. To her suprise, she was chosen! It
