"Blue" by Sixty 8
Colorado Springs Rock Band Sixty 8 is back!
Sixty 8 has just released it’s newest single “Blue.”
The band has been dormant since opening for Quiet Riot in Denver in 2010, and has not released any new music since their last album “Before The Fall” in 2007.
Featured guest performances on Sixty 8’s “Blue” are:
• Rich Mouser – Colorado Springs native Rich Mouser has worked with Chris Cornell, Dream Theater, Weezer, Joe Holmes, Stanley Clarke, Tears For Fears, Neal Morse, Spock’s Beard, and Oleander.
• Jimmy Keegan – Jimmy’s played drums for Santana, Kenny Loggins, John Waite, Tevin Campbell, and Spock’s Beard.
Sixty 8 band members Trig Bundgaard (Vocals,) James Lee Humes (Guitar,) and Paul Asher York were involved in the project.
Asked about the timing of the release and the featured performers, Executive Producer and “Blue” songwriter Paul Asher York stated:
“Sixty 8 lost a couple of our band members and consequently stopped performing after the Quiet Riot show. A few of the remaining band members have been recording in Denver at Colorado Sound with Tom Capek and Jesse O’Brien. We were working on “Blue” at about the same time Rich Mouser and Oleander came through Colorado Springs to play The Black Sheep. Rich and I have known each other since the early 80’s and have worked on music together. I played the early version of the song for Rich and he liked it enough to jump in and finish it. Rich also brought in Jimmy Keegan from Spock’s Beard.”
