It has been difficult getting any quality recording time during covid but I have been writing and rehearsing. But I was able to coordinate with the other emcees on These Streets to create a video. Kayyce Closed is from Detroit and Bruno Quattro Tempos is from Brazil and we were able to film all 3 parts separately and my man King Castro from Loud Vision Productions was able to sew it all together so please, for now, please enjoy this video and share it. Hey what's good family!!!? It's been a while since I got on here and messaged y'all. Sorry about that!
Well in the last 6 months I recorded and released my new Daddy's Home CD. I did all the recording from Jan-Mar at Lunatic studio with J. Reno at the helm and was able to have a 4/20 release date. Since the album came out, I have been fortunate to have been on several shows including one with Alpha & Omega and of course, my own CD release party. I was happy with the turn out. I also had great performers that showed up to support me. The Twylyte Ridas, ZOT, GCP, Academy and so many others. Make sure you look these guys up on youtube and what not. They are all dope!!!
Anyway, if you're interested, the new album is available on iTunes ( (expired link) ) and it is streaming on various other sites.

David Jones is a Canadian rapper known as SMOOV Daddy since 1993 and he has been writing and reciting, recording and performing from Chicago, Illinois, Southwestern Ontario and British Columbia simply for the pleasure, joy and love of it all. In recent years with the advent of social media and the demise of Hiphop as a culture of peace, love, unity and fun, he has felt his passion for the art and craft burning to be heard. In 2013, SMOOV recorded his (expired link). Mixtape but never officially released the project.
The SMOOV moniker is an acronym for Slightly Malicious Orator w/ Overwhelming Versatility. With so many meaningful subjects to tackle while walking a fine line between necessity, vengeance and equity, SMOOV works seamlessly between politically charged verses, aggressive battle raps and passionate, poetic turn of phrase to express love and evoke a plethora of emotions. Life is more than the cars we drive, the houses we own and the parties we attend and so is Hiphop. SMOOV is the voice of those disenfranchised by the current course of corporate, commercial radio and the imagery it perpetuates.
The new Daddy's Home CD is scheduled for release in March 2016.
