SoCold is a rap duo based out of Chicago, IL which consists of two extremely talented MC’s. Christopher Cummings who uses the moniker CB SoCold, a name given to him by his older cousin and his equally amazing comrade Jeremiah Garretson who goes by the name JG SoCold.
The two have been performing together for one year and have performed at various clubs throughout the city such as Refuge Night Club, Reggie’s Night Club and Club Red to name a few. They recently opened up for Famous Dex, a local artist from Chicago who is getting rave reviews and David Banner at The Memphis Black Expo in Tennessee”.
CB is 17 years old and is often compared to Eazy-E due to the unique sound to his voice. It’s described as a bit raspy yet very clear and understandable, His metaphors are ridiculous and his stage performance is contagious, hypnotic yet a bit gritty.
When asked who his musical influences are he states his influences are: Lil Snupe, Montana of 300, Meek Mill, G Herbo, Drake and Lil Wayne are his favorite rappers due to their punchlines, crazy lyrics and metaphors.
Jeremiah Garretson, (expired link) JG is 19 years old and has an uncanny ability to turn up and get the audience in tune with their performance. His lyrics are powerful and catchy yet easily identifiable.
JG spits fire when he touches the mic; he enjoys getting the crowd hyped and getting them to sing along to their track, his stage presence is phenomenal and edgy.
His influences are Montana Of 300, Kevin Gates, BU Double, Young Pappy, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar.
These two incredible artists write their own material and are not strangers to hard work. They are constantly on their grind promoting and marketing themselves like no other.
In February 2017, SoCold competed in Coast 2 Coast nationwide music video competition, the largest artist showcase in the world where they won first place.
