Introduction

Energetic, profoundly talented, multi-gifted, carrying ten skillful but unexplored fingers, no platform, no name, no fame, and of course no cheese until this young man acquired Knowledge and APPLIED it.

Today, he is the winner of the FIRST ever, five-million-naira-laden MTN Football Fans Chant Competition. Sola Soetan, the brain behind NEWSONG MUSIC ACADEMY went from strolling about the streets of Lagos to maximizing the opportunity of studying music at the Point Blank Music School in the United Kingdom. He came back to Nigeria, wrote and produced a song that won him the competition and worked with Harrysong an MTN ambassador.
He also has a certificate in Creative Enterprenueurship from the Lagos Business School.

Today, NEWSONG MUSIC ACADEMY, a practical-based music school, thrives on empowering upcoming artises by giving them applied knowledge that will give them an edge in the fast growing and crowded Nigerian Music Industry.

He has extensive experience with working with young people and just recently participated as a Mentor and instructor in the Reel kids program,an initiative of Inkmark in partnership with the Society for Performing Arts(SPAN) which was organized to train young people (teenagers) how to write and create their own songs and was also targeted at improving their oral and literary english skills.

The NEWSONG MUSIC ACADEMY, in a bid to serve as a bridge between upcoming artistes and quality music production, has also designed a programme called THE ARTISTE MASTER CLASS.
THE ARTISTE MASTER CLASS is intended to make quality music production, music business consultation and music training accessible to all upcoming artistes,in one package, without them paying heavily.

MUSICAL SKILLS/TALENT
Vocal performance: He has a smooth, soft textured voice with skills in voice inflections, slurs, vibrato and good breath control.

MUSIC APPRECIATION: He has an ear for good music; can distinguish between different music styles and genre. He can also give a summary appraisal of music heard covering aspects like instrumentation, vocal harmonization and quality of production.
He has a flair for R&B, Afro-Jazz,Afro-Rock,Nigerian pop and Contemporary styles covering gospel and inspirational.

STAGE PRESENCE: He has had a great measure of exposure via concerts, seminars, TV and radio jingles. His confidence when performing before a mixed audience (international and local) has also been boosted to a level which most people term confident.

INSTRUMENTAL PERFORMANCE: Can play the keyboard and a little of the drums and conga.

SONGWRITING AND PRODUCTION: He writes,composes and arranges both indigenous and contemporary songs.
He also has recording,mixing and mastering skills in audio and music production.

What Motivates Him
Strong believe in the power of positive music. It can change lives, inspire HOPE; put a smile on the faces of the poorest of men and help to build a great society. Apart from its entertainment value, music can educate, inform, inspire, heal and motivate the hearts of men to accomplish great things. The above and more is what he hopes to achieve with his music.
Furthermore, he intends to help in building a strong and dynamic structure for positive music in Nigeria.
