About Soul Raiders Band
Lilongwe based sensational reggae outfit, Soul Raiders is composed of lead vocalists Prince Martin and Marcus Suzi and sound engineer/keyboardist Prince Monty. Monty is music graduate from University of Malawi. Soul Raiders Band is a household name among reggae fans within Lilongwe, Malawi’s capital. Dubbed the Ultimate Live Reggae Experience, the band boasts of high quality sound ranging from the band’s music to reggae and international classics played in reggae. The band performs in pubs and clubs all over the city and has performed in festivals including Sand Music Festival and the internationally acclaimed Lake of Stars music festival.
Soul Raiders Band has a debut album entitled ‘Angels in disguise’ and is now set to release its second album ‘Reggae Revolution’ on 28 November, 2014 at pre-launch concerts in Lilongwe and Blantyre. The band originally started at Chancellor College in 2001 and performing in and around Zomba until 2004 when most members graduated. Three original members are Joel Suzi (Marcus), Monty Manyozo and Prince Martin.
The band was re-united in November 2010 soon after Prince Martin’s UK Reggae Trip. After 3 months of intensive rehearsal, the band had its first show at Hotel Africana on January 22, 2011.
