I have been writing songs for a while but it has only been a few years since we got more gigs with our protest songs in museums and in the last year music venues like Melkweg and Paradiso, festival like Landjuweel in Amsterdam and even an activist wedding!

Here I play with Jeike Meijer a 20 minute set of protest songs by us and a tribute to Buffy Sainte Marie
* 04 November concert Activist songversations @We Are Warming up Festival Tolhuistuin
Here we sing and talk about Indigenous struggle, poc women being strong together, grief and happiness throughout this life of earthdefending. Here I play with Arawak/Dutch singersongwriter Jeike Meijer and Josh Sambo(bass), Joey Soumokil(keys and guitar) and Benjamin Tredup(drums).
Below I attached a song I recorded last year with Pravini Baboeram and her band PAY UP. It is a song we produced especially for a decolonial podcast LANGDRADIG for the Tropenmuseum. It is a duet-conversation on what's wrong with ongoing unfair trade and pollutionstreams in the clothing industry. Hope you enjoy!

About Chihiro / Sound of Climate Justice
Chihiro writes and sings songs for the Sound of Climate Justice band. They perform catchy protestsongs at blockades, at museum events, at music venues and at activist weddings. Songs range from reggae, to rock to lullaby. Chihiro is Dutch Bolivian with Quechua ancestors living in Amsterdam where she mixes public speaking, making art/exhibitions, spoken word poetry and making music as singersongwriter. The uniting themes of her work are decolonial climate justice, Indigenous struggle and healing from political trauma. She also performs with Jeike Meijer bringing activist songversations and collaborated with various musical friends on different tracks.
