A real excellent masterpiece of craftmanship...

Great version of Hallelujah! I'm not a fan of that song, so you bet I can't hype that. But anyhow excellent work, astonishing performance, very cool recording, mixing and mastering. Great singing! I like that voice and the drums sound so natural. A real excellent masterpiece of craftmanship. There's nothing left to say. You did everything alright, except the song selection, which is subjective on my side. Keep it up and rock on!

Hello fellows first of all all great job I listen to this song yes it is different and that is what music is all about keep up the great work the music was right on time and the lead vocals were just as good and very different but nicely done on a scale of 1-10 you have a 10 from me thank you for giving the world a song that sends a message and worth listening to I hope what I have heard will be of some help to you and your band from James Milligan President/CEO New Experience Records/Rick Ross Music Group/UMG.

Great understanding of the song

I normally skip past covers on this site but you guys always amaze me with your work. This song is all mellow saddness, build, and powerfull climax. You nailed it. You put your own spin on it yet kept true to the song. Great job. The voice, perfect. I love a slightly raspy baritone. The drummer has a real gift for capturing what is going on and playing appropriately. Guys, don't ever stop playing. You're the best band I've found on this site. Also the breath at the end was the perfect way to end the song.

HAL LE LU YAH!

Stage 11 has taken a favourite hit and brought their magical mix to this rendition. The organ is especially poignant striking in this cover. Excellent percussion and a vocal track that is fantastic. Talented musicians who know how to push beyond the limits of this song to bring us a memorable song.

A brilliant cover of the Leonard Cohen classic

This is the 1st cover performance I review here. Obviously I can commend Stage 11's choice of a fine songwriting classic, but the main point here of course is both the updated and modern musical arrangement and performance, and both are top notch, mind you. The opening sort of pays tribute to the spirit of the original performance but then it takes its own updated direction, in the tradition of current rock ballad performances: A powerful vocal lead that diverges from Leonard Cohen's unique style of singing and takes it more to the American Rock realm and does so effectively. Arrangements and musical performance are sophisticated and proficient, though not overly "show-off" which keep things relatively simple and easy to listen to. Stage 11 managed to pull off a difficult task: they took an iconic song, by an iconic performer and gave it their own version without sounding too derivative while maintaining the song's classic value. This one definitely enters my favorites list.

Praise Be

Honestly, I'm not sure why anyone records this song any longer. It's so over recorded and overdone. Yet every time I hear someone do it, it suckers me back in to love and appreciate the interpretation they have created with such a time-tested standard. The vocals have hints of Neil Diamond. The orchestration, music is nicely conducted. The production sounds nice coming through on the stereo. Keep on Rockin'!

Great version!

I loved how the song builds. The vocalist has such a great tonal quality that really resonates with the instruments. The guitar solo is so beautiful, but not overbearing. Overall, I'd highly recommend anyone to listen and enjoy this awesome version!

Stage 11 - Hallelujah

Stage 11 have created a truly alternative version of the Hallelujah anthem. Utilizing all of the bands strengths and a really superb vocal this is one of the best renditions of this track you will hear. The track builds superbly with the addition of background vocals that blend seamlessly into the mix. The drums are once again tremendous and help the track reach the anthemic heights you would expect. The guitar solo takes the track into the second half of the song and builds to a lead guitar climax that fades to a simple vocal and guitar climax. Definitely one of the best bands I have heard recently and I imagine they are a must see live band. Love the sigh at the end !

Beautiful

Such a beautiful version of this song. I almost didn't want to hear all the production around it because your voice was so nice that I felt it was getting drowned a little in all the production. I'd love to hear an acoustic version. Very nice!

Pulls you in

Hallelujah by Stage 11 is a dynamic acoustic rock song. The band displays its soulful side with a song showcasing the grittiness of their lead singer. His voice is complimented by clean layered background vocal harmonies. Good vocal melody but lyrical content is disjointed. Hopefully this will not be the case in future releases. Stage 11 is a band with promise.
