About Steel River Band

Steel River Band is a five piece country/country rock band based in the Front Royal, VA area. Gene "Cowboy" Kidd lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Ben Sturgis bass guitar and vocals, "Banger" drums, Ken Harvey lead guitar/rhythm and vocals, Mike Palmer lead guitar/rhythm and vocals.

We play cover songs that folks 25 to 70 will know and love. We cover songs by George Jones, Credence Clearwater Revival, Bob Seger, Hank Williams Jr., Merle Haggard, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Kentucky Headhunters, Charlie Daniels, The Eagles, Marshall Tucker Band and lots of others. We are diverse within our genre, which most would call country rock. We like to rock out once in while with covers like Miss You by the Stones and slow it up with songs like It's only Make Believe by Conway Twitty.

Steel River Band has a loyal following which grows all the time. We play mostly in the Northern Virginia and West Virginia areas but are poised to start traveling as soon as the opportunity comes our way. When asked what our strong points are, most people point to our song selection and our vocal talent. Three and four part harmony and outstanding lead vocals are what sets our band apart.

Folks who want to hear some good old (and new) melodic country and rock and do some belt buckle polishen will definitely enjoy what we do. It's always interesting, always a party, so come on out and see and hear us for yourself!
