So I was notified that Crimson Sky had reached #2 in America for Progressive. I'm pretty shocked. I like all my songs that I've kept, and it's hard to point to one that soars above them all, on my own. I thank N1M for this revelation. The song began a few years ago when my friend Dani Campbell lost her 18 yr old son to an accident. In her darkness she wrote these lyrics and posted them on facebook. I copied and printed them out and put them in the pile of music printouts I learn songs from. One day, more than a year later, the chord progression that was to become the heart of Crimson Sky came to me and I immediately thought of those lyrics. 2 hours later the song was done. I really don't understand the mechanics of how a song progresses in the ranks here on N1M, but I appreciate this moment of acknowledgement. ~ Steve
