I can't thank you enough for all of the "Likes" / "Thumbs up" / "Heart-marks" / "Favorite" VOTES...Annnnnnd... for all the help in spreading the word about my music and spoken word / music blends! And for the enthusiastic fan mail you've sent me raving about some of the songs that really spoke to you...and gave you a smile and a lift! That means so much to hear how you're using them to give you an "upbeat" moment, or a thoughtful reminder of something you know deep in your heart is true, but one of my songs brought it back to you, and you remembered to "stay on track" with your heart! I can't tell you how much that means to me to know you have gotten much enrichment in heart and mind from listening to them! That's what I had hoped they would do. I write what I like to hear and encourage myself, but I never know if others will feel the same about the messages of the songs...unless I see the "likes" or get the fan mail. But you have gone "over the top" in your support of my music...and I am so deeply blessed and encouraged by your enthusiasm and most helpful support! It always stretches me to write so much about the heart. It's often not easy to be so honest in such a public way, but I know it's essential that I share what's true for me, and hope that some others will feel the same. But with the recent uploads to Number One Music...of SONG IN ME LONG IN ME (SIMLIM Kept)...SLEEPIN' BEAUTY and SWEET POSSIBILITIES... I was overwhelmed at all of the enthusiasm and support for them! SIMLIM is a "rambling", goes-on-and-on song that is SO NOT a "radio play" kind of song with short verses and choruses! It just kind of rambles on. But maybe when you listen to it you can see why I didn't wish to "chop" it into nice little verses and choruses, although it sort of has some divisions, but it tells a story, there's a progression, and it kinds of builds up into a crescendo, a conclusion, so I felt that it "worked". But the message is kind of "loaded". It's got so much packed in, it's not easy to follow. It's like just putting music to one of my many "spoken word" pieces. And the melody repeats itself--a lot! And the lyrics are so rhymey (but any of you who know my "spoken word" pieces [Like ONLY YOU CAN LEAVE THE LIGHT ON or SKY VIEWS, UP HIGH VIEWS, etc.] know that I do enjoy my time in the rhyme! =grin= ) and it's "just me and my guitar"...nothing else-- very "unplugged"! I hesitated to share it with you, but so many of you have "spoken" by your Heart-Mark "votes"...that...along with the other, shorter, less "rambling" songs, you enjoy this too! It totally surprised me, and let me know that I can have much more freedom than I thought...in my writing style. It's not so much about "radio play" or other media-driven popularity contests. It's what I share...from my heart...that matters most, and you have responded with an overwhelming "YES"! to some of these songs which may not be in nice, neat little boxes, but "just me"...sharing, sharing, sharing....from my heart, heart, heart! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Annnnnd... I wasn't sure if you'd take a liking to my "Alter Eagle" Wise Man, "Geezer"...or my "Winner Child", "Tweezer". (Like "GO WITH ALL YOUR HEART", My "Duet" with "Geezer", or "AWAKEN TO LOVE", My Debut Performance of "Tweezer"). They are the exception to my usual songs, but I feel they provide a nice variety, and seem to satisfy my love of acting and performance beyond just singing. These are part acting, part singing, part "channeling" that I do for fun....but yet, they seem to be just the right "persona" for each of the songs / spoken word they perform....and carry the message much further than if I were to do them "as me". Yet here again...you've given VERY HIGH ratings to them! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! So...in celebration of this... I'm JUST NOW making SIMLIM available for FREE DOWNLOAD!!! Maybe you'll be glad with me... that this "SONG IN ME LONG IN ME" ...although, yes, it's a bit "long"... is no longer KEPT IN me! I hope so! No, it's not for everyone. No song is.
