I know I've been rather quiet lately, but I've been working incredibly hard on writing and refining a sound for a follow up EP to last year's Bones. Expect to hear a much more natural sound on the new record, and a vastly different production style. The new sound is heavily inspired by '70s folk-rock and pop music, but still staying true to the more ethereal, airy sounds I presented on Bones. I do not have an official title for the record yet, but I have some ideas formulating, so I'll announce that as soon as I settle on one. What I do have done, though, is the vast majority of the writing and a semi-final track list. As for singles and promo tracks, I will do my best to have something out before September, and a release date along with that. Up until then, I am planning on sort of reviving my YouTube channel and start uploading more cover and live videos. I would also love to release an acoustic version of Bones EP, with a few new songs added. I'm not 100% sure if that will happen, but it's something I'd certainly love to do leading up to the release of the next official EP. The current track list for the new EP is below.

So as you can see, I won't be continuing anymore as WXLVS. It didn't seem to suit me anymore and I didn't feel like it had longevity behind it, so I changed everything to St. Flora. More importantly, though, along with a new name, there's new music coming. I have my new single 'Games' out now, and an EP in the works, which will hopefully see the light of day in early 2016.
As you all know, also, you call always continue listening to my music on here, but there's a lot of extra material, including demos, covers, and the rest of the Bones EP available on my SoundCloud (just search St. Flora). My EP and single 'Games' are also both available on Bandcamp for purchase, and Games is on iTunes and just about everywhere else (and Bones will be soon). With that said I want to let you all know that my debut EP 'Bones' is finally available for purchase and streaming everywhere! I would greatly appreciate it if you could pick it up (it's only $3.96 on iTunes!) or listen through any streaming service. I've been working on these songs for over a year and I'm so incredibly excited to have it finally out all in one piece! It's also available for streaming on SoundCloud along with a cover of one of my favorite Lana Del Rey songs so you can find it there if that's your platform of choice.
Next on the list is what's I'm currently working on. I've already begun working on my next EP, which will be called 'Damage.' I'm planning on making it a bit more stripped down that Bones, but still a similar feel. The first single is called 'Games' and should be out in the coming weeks, or even days.

Music for the end of the night and the edge of morning
Sylven Joseph released his first EP as St. Flora in 2015 at the age of 18. Recorded over a year of learning to produce and record himself, he transformed songs originally intended for the third release as half of folk duo SoFarForever, into modest but effective, shadowy electronic based dream pop. This style didn't stick, though and after releasing two piano based singles, "Games," and "Lungs," he returned to an acoustic guitar. After trying out numerous different styles of folk music, Joseph remained unsatisfied with much of the material he was writing and decided to shift to an electric guitar. This resulted in a surge of new ideas and songs that started to lead the way to his next release. After forming a short-lived post metal band called Gods and Fighting Men, he returned to an acoustic guitar to reimagine some of the songs written for the band. He began to play the new acoustic renditions through electric guitar pedals, which would shape the sound of his forthcoming debut album "Blue Dream." The album was recorded in the first winter months of 2020, and originally set for a May release, but the albums post-production was halted due to the global health crisis. During that time, Sylven began blending his original dream pop and R&B influenced sounds with the post-doom metal sounds of Gods and Fighting Men, transforming yet again into Swan Diver. St. Flora remains as an outlet for experimentation, in contrast to the more refined and focused Swan Diver.
