As another year come to an end I hope it was one that at least had some good memories attached to it. Things can sure get crazy. I've been busy in the studio writing and producing lately so I thought I would finish off the year wit 2 NEW songs. The first is "Dream Away". This is an instrumental I wrote with some great guitar work from my friend Doug Philips. The other is from another good friend Ray O'Dell, who wrote the song and had me produce it for him. It has a country feel to it and also some more fine guitar work from Doug. I hope you enjoy them and I look forward to seeing you in 2023!

Some channels have Shark Week, but here at "Studio For", October is Shark Month! "Mohawk Shark" that is. This month we are featuring 3 piece instrumental group from the 80's, I became friends with the guitarist of the group in the late 90's and he told me about his band and said he only had a 2 track cassette of some of their songs and wondered if I could do anything with it. Well with the miracle of Digital recording we were able to save and enhance the songs. I added some keyboards, sound effects , cleaned up and enhanced the drums,(excellent original drummer but the sonic quality of some of the original recordings just didn't stand up). I even wrote some lyrics and added a vocal to one of their songs, (with their permission) to a song that was just screaming to me. I posted 1 of their songs (Sands Of Time) several months ago, and thought I would feature 3 more this month. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Greetings to all. This month I have added 3 selections that reflect my joy of being able to have access to a quality recording studio. Of course over the years technology has made it possible to achieve sonic excellence with a computer and a digital interface, but it has been a fun ride to experience all of those changes from Tape to ADAT's to Pro Tools. The first song, "Wild Card", was the result of an afternoon with a friend just having fun in the studio. The next, "New Century Math", was just me playing with my toys and experimenting with sounds and rhythms. The last one is not a song at all. During the "Jane Fonda" fitness craze we thought it would be fun to do an album of cover songs with the words changed to be about Fitness. The Title was going to be "Laughing Is Aerobic". The album was never made but one day looking for a family project we went into the studio and recorded this radio ad just for a joke. We had a great time and was an enjoyable family day. Side note. The disclaimer at the end was done by my son Jesse in 1 take and I did not speed it up. Well I hope you enjoy this months offerings. Have a fun month and we'll see you in September!.

Greetings from San Diego Where summer is in full swing. We hope everyone is safe & healthy. This month I thought I would post some new songs. Usually I post the new stuff on my writing partners site on N1M called "The Moser Project. Be sure to check that site out also. The first one is. "Take Me Back To Yesterday". I just finished this one last week, just in time for those summer days of yesteryear. It has the feel of a flash from the past and a real toe tapper. Next is "Hot Summer Night" and instrumental I wrote and had my friend Doug Phillips put his fabulous guitar work on it. Last but not least is a song by Moser and me with a little help from Doug on the vocals. It's called "That Don't Matter At All". A little rocker that helps us to focus on what's really important in life. I hope you enjoy these songs and we'll see you next month.

Here we are half way through the year. I hope all of you are healthy and safe. This month we will start with a smooth jazz type song I put together back in 2010 called "What A Day" Hopefully it will remind you of days in your past and of many more to come. Next is "Sands Of Time" by a 3 man instrumental group from the 80's. They came to us in 2011 with a 2 track cassette they recorded back then and we digitized and enhanced it to sound like they did live. Finally, I added T-Zone which as you will hear is my Idea of what the theme song for one of my favorite TV shows of all time, "The Twilight Zone", would sound like today. Well if today was 2010. Ahh the sands of time! Have a great month and we'll see you in July.

I have 3 more for you this month. The first is a new instrumental that I did with a long time friend and fabulous guitarist Doug Philips, "Cosmic Dust". Be sure to check out his stuff at Reverb Nation/ Doug Philips & the Blues Island Band. Next Scott is back with another selection from his late 70's demo tapes, "Survival". If you're a fan of that era you'll love this one. And last but not least a song from a band back in the mid 90's that had their own special rock sound and were a great live band, Falter with the song " She Reads Aloud". I hope you enjoy them. Have a great month and we'll see you in June with a couple of mid year surprises.

Greetings to all. Out of the Vault this month are 3 goodies across the musical spectrum. First is "Island Dreams". We can all use a vacation from the current world situation even if it's only in our mind. Next is a song from a solo project that Staggering's lead singer did around 1979. The 80's were about to explode and Scott was definitely ready to rock! Last but not least is a song by my son Jesse from one of his projects called The Blacklist Alumni. This was done around 2001 or so If I remember correctly (which I rarely do). Hope you enjoy this months offerings.

Greetings to all subscribers. Because this site is very new I do appreciate all of you who have been able to navigate the vast ocean of music and found us. I have 3 new songs this month. The first is from Staggerwing our band back in the 70's. a fun little ditty based on our time at the Formosa Café in Hollywood. The next song " Something New" is a song that my son wrote and he had me play the drums and do some backup vocals. The last song "A Lot of Nothin is my attempt at Funk after seeing a great local San Diego Funk Band. Since I sing more like Jack Johnson than James Brown It ended up a blend of the 2, Funk music, Johnson Vocals. Hope you enjoy us opening up the vault and letting these songs see the light of day.
