Don't even know your name review

Hi Submissive Soul, 1 / Mix and Production : Mix is well balanced, Have you done a mastering cause the sound is low. 2 / Music : It's smelling the 70's rock and it's good. The riff bass/guitar is groovy and catchy. The drums is the very good point (interesting game). The negative point is the longer of the track. 5'00 and it's repetitive, just a bridge/solo at 3'20. With another bridge or a CODA or a final or more short it will be better, but it's just my opinion. 3 / Vocal : Good, nothing to say 4 / Overall : a good track maybe too long or lack of surprise. Good job and good luck.

Swagger

Lots to like here. The opening riff is strong and well accompanied by a funky/walking bass. Could use a bit more rhythm guitar to flesh it out, or maybe bring up the bass. The contrast between the verse and chorus is too abrupt. Vocals are absolutely beautiful; well delivered with controlled intensity. Drums are solid, but need more presence in the mix. Good songwriting. Sounds fresh while being well founded in the southern rock milieu. Overall, this has a ton of swagger and goes well with whiskey. Well done gents!

Funk is alive!

I know you guys are classified as hard rock and metal, but there's so much groove in the verses, i bet it gets the crowd moving. Your vocalist has a typical rock sound but with an original tone its refreshing to hear someone try something different. I'd like to hear a little more variation in riffs rather than repetition for a 4 minute track though. Take the risk! You've got the groove, you've got the distortion, you've got the talent, change it up!

great groove, good musicians, well done recording, nice job!

I dig the groove on this, good hook, keeps the mojo working. I personally would have upped 2db around 1k and 3db around 4k, give it more bite, and the put into a chorus plug in or guitar pedal for a stereo effect to wrap my head..... LOVE THE DRUMS, they stay in time and in pocket; I would have panned them a bit different with a stereo spread around the kit, added 6db around 300 and 2db around 100 for slight more kick from the bass drum... the bass works with it, stays locked in but I'd like it a bit heavier in the mix and would have added a bass distortion pedal to it. The vocals are good, clear and understandable; I'd add 3db around 800 and put into a stereo delay unit to delay one channel VERY little, add slight reverb to the clean side and it travels. I like this ! nice work! keep on rockin!

Catchy tune

This is some kinda song that fits in our time coz it really sounds old school 70's style. Many bands in the moment use stoner metal, but this song with the simple riff that catches your ear fits more into the normal rock vein. Could even be an old AC/DC classic. Nice.

Congratulations!!

A very good song to listen to. The energy she spends is indescribable. All this accompanied by a rock climate vocal and well arranged. The guitar is a musical based on keeping all the music expression. The song is very good, as well as harmony it has its own identity, that is, is a song that does not look like no other. A very good battery and a sensational dynamics.

Dont even know your name

Don't even know your name by Submissive Soul. When I first heard this song the great sound of the 1970's rock bands come to mind. I love the bluesy heavy riffs and raw dirty vibe. This track has great production. I guarantee you if a true rock chick listens to this track she will start taking her clothes off.

Review Of Don't Even Know Your Name by Submissive Soul.

In a word....Gimme Dat Funk. Love this tune. Reminds me of early Mothers Finest. This band is tight in definitely in the pocket. That southern funk is down right nasty. Now for some suggestions. This tune could use an old fashion Hammond organ, a few backing vocals, some added percussion such as a tambourine etc. The guitar work is good but a wah could be used more effectively. Over all though a real hot tune.

Hell yeah!!

This song kick some major....!!! From the moment I started listening I knew it was going to be a good one! It was groovy funky and in your face rock! I loved everything about it, from the bass and guitar part working together to the cool melody line... Buen riff...

Nice groove!

It's primal and huge...smooth and jagged all at once. The vocals are perfect, the lyrics are ideal. Solid drums, plotting but relaxed bass, under a sharply contrasting guitar line...nice bluesy, vital guitar solo, solid bridge section...the dynamic comes back the top perfectly after the solo... the mix is awesome...everything lives just right in its proper place, while coiled and ready to spring.

what a name it matters!

We admire it in its completeness. Just areas that really satisfy more than other measures... lay the whole thing on the line & listen thoroughly, very unique sounds! Don't quit now, you made it!

there ya go!

I've reviewed this before...What a change a little guitar volume will do. I feel like I was listening to Black Sabbath and Lynyrd Skynyrd have a fight on stage (that's a compliment). The way you guys switch it up...I definitely hear the south in your sound and that's almost obsolete in this world. Someone needs to bring it back and I think you guys are the prime example on how to do it...And in this corner!!!! SUBMISSIVE SOUL!!!!! Great tune!
