About Supamane1000
Willie Ewing aka Supamane 1000 has been involved in music since he was about seven years old.
He and his older brother, Myles, used to record raps in their room to whatever instrumental they could
find. During family gatherings he, his brother, and cousins used to put on performances for family
members. Supamane had the role of being the hype man while his brother always served as the front
man.
Tragically, in 1999 something happened that would take a toll on his life and transform him to
become who he is today. He lost his brother Myles in a horrible accident. With the seed planted by his
brother, Supamane was determined to finish what they had begun. Overtime he began to write his own
lyrics using their foundation to push himself to the top.
In early 2000, Supamane, who was known at the time as Playboy Willie, joined up with his
cousin Freddie Bell aka Freddie B and friend Zack Watkins aka Top Cat to form the group Thugged Out
Country Boys (TOCB). They spent many nights recording at Top Cat’s house where they had a small
studio. Top Cat initially made the beats, but eventually Supamane’s music ambition grew to producing
and he too began to create sounds for TOCB. The trio produced many tracks with the most notable
being “Get off the floor”, “Fuck some”, “Like that bitch move”, and “All in the Club.” Their songs were
being played by local DJs such as DJ Playbox, Cool Rome, and DJ Pat which helped to get them exposure
amongst the local communities.
In 2011, he began working on his solo career and the artist formerly known as Playboy Willie
became Supamane 1000. As a solo artist, Supamane linked up with local producer AP who produced
beats for his songs “Fuck You”, “Dance for Me”, and “Sleeping with the Money.” All which were
featured on the Coast 2 Coast mixtape hosted by Future. Showing his ability of being more than just a
lyricist, Supamane served as producer for his hits “By the Pound”, “Geeked Up”, and “IG Shawty,” an
ode to all the ladies addicted to posting selfies on Instagram. Featured on the work of local artists such
as DTV, Richie Rich, and Lil Tony, Supamane is dedicated to representing his hood and is determined to
help place Deentown on the map all over the world.
Supamane’s musical influences derive from Memphis style rappers such as southern legends
Eightball & MJG, Triple Six Mafia, and Playa Fly. When asked who he would compare himself to, he
states he has “that Project Pat flow.” Not only is Supamane influenced by Memphis rappers, but the
local talent of the GTA, The Golden Triangle Area. Favorites such as Deentown Villains, Game Bred, and Doe Belly Stray have inspired him to hone his skills, as well as the increasingly number of talented
individuals from his hometown of Aberdeen, MS who help to drive his creative edge.
Listening to his music, you can often hear how he infuses the old southern style with his own
thought provoking lyrics that creates visuals of the stories he tells. He demonstrates his versatility with
music that ranges from the ladies inspired “She Bad” to the hustler’s anthem “Money Don’t Fold.” His
music is inspired by real life experiences and his perception of the things that are happening around
him. When writing his music, he aims to provide listeners with things that they could relate to. Whether
it’s a song that makes the girls twerk or motivates a hustler to hustle, the objective is for someone to
feel what he’s saying.
Supaman has not dropped a major album, but Sleepin with the Money: Dreams of Being Rich is a
mixtape in the making. It will feature the ladies hit “Fetish” and the trap joint featuring Freddie B. titled
“Mayweather.” This mixtape will serve as a platform for Supamane’s solo career. Although he is
focusing on his individual career, he states that TOCB is not just a thing of the past. It will continue to be
a project that he and the other members will work towards creating. Outside of TOCB, Supamane hopes
to work with artists such as the likes of Future, TI, Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne, and a host of other different
southern rappers that are putting work into the game.
Ultimately, success is the goal. To Supamane that means making his family proud and providing
an environment where his kids will not have to suffer for anything. With ambition and drive, add his
ability to produce quality music in which his audience could relate, it is no doubt that success is
definitely in the horizon for Supamane. As he stated on his “Life” track, ‘You don’t hustle, you don’t
work, you don’t eat. That’s just the way it goes.’
