have you ever had an experience you can't explain? something that defies your experiences in the physical realm and makes you question whether the experience was the chemicals reacting in your brain, or something more profound? how does one even begin to explain the experience without it seeming like absolute bullcrap? how do you even EXPLAIN IT in general??? Much thought and mediation was needed after various psychoactive experiences to look into the nature of near death experiences, and reflect on what they mean altogether; life changing event? most definitely. tunnelling effect/affect? seems to be relative to Western experiences, but i think for all our members, that's a check. General perceptions of relativity ? GONE. expanding one's consciousness voluntarily and controlled is a good thing. It's ironic that your brain would make you go through a tunnel in order to help you break away from having 'tunnel-vision' when it comes to reality.
We made a new video version for 'into the downspout' and of course, the song itself deals with such subject matter.
enjoy.

Is GMO a bit of a misnomer? What really constitutes the definition of a genetically modified organism? It's a many faceted term really for multiple definitions of modification such as natural selection and artificially breeding but I submit this to you: If an organism is created through a process of ultimately recombining aspects of the DNA should it not be called a Recombinant Organism? Or recombinant modification?
Also, has anyone watched the new X files with as much glee as I have?!?!!
The idea of colonization interwoven with existing events or any story scarily like real world events is, well, frightening. I suppose it really remains to be seen how accurate Hollywood fiction is to the real world. Some things are not a conspiracy.
We begin more production on our singles and our videos this week, and as always, new music is in the works. More thoughts on DNA and vibrations next time. -J

Day 3: Lithium (Li)
Day 3, element #3. I have started to read to my unborn children, yes children PLURAL for TWINS, and we have decided that we would take 118 days to read through the entire periodic table with them. We found a book with wonderful write ups on every single element that will read to them. THAT'S how much we love to science. And oddly enough, they seem to move around in the womb quite happily when we read them scientific literature and journals. It seems like the are most definitely my seed; nerds already.
Let me also start this 2016 by wishing everyone well, and reminding everyone who follows or reads this that for the record, we say dub this project under "Science Rock' because of our general interest in the scientific process as it trancends convential art vs science division lines. We use art, more speciafically music, to test the listeners threshold with frequency, with perceptions of that frequency or how that sound can resonate with a listener. We use this art to promote logic and reason, but to philosophically explore the nature of our Universe without any biases. Remeber a most important fact, that science is not a belief system, it is a method of investigation, and our investigation is that of sound and frequency and it's psychological and philosophical effect/affect on the human condition. Therefore we call this investigation piece, as a piece of art, "Chewing Water.'
The process of creation is always underway. The next evolutionary step is always around the corner. When does it all begin? Why must it happen? Where could it come from? Is it spontaneous?...Planned? Is there no control over something that may or may not happen at any given moment for no reason whatsoever? or did they really just shoot cosmic spunk in the mire of our newly formed world and viola! primordial sea monkeys? the investigation continues. I only dwell upon the thought as i reflect on the microcosm that is our creative project and sometimes wonder even where inspiration, thought or our content comes from. Swimming around someone's brain, but how did it even get there in the first place? Is thought a vast ocean that spawns prawns? If we came from muck that would explain a lot for myself, we're made of mostly water, but still 'solid' through and through, is that like the nature of thought on our being? Thought is fluid, we are fluid, but still thick as bricks when considering the very nature of who and what we are. This bizarre, physical, tangible reality that seems to be completely solid and yet is empty and fluid through and through. Taking a bite into that can be tough to swallow, both philosophically and factually. For all the answers, we still have more questions. Almost like trying to catch smoke with the bare hands or better yet, like trying to chew water.
Our EP entitled 'Chewing Water is in final recording phases. As i stated in the last news letter, I can't predict things beyond my control with calculable certainty, otherwise i'd be a millionaire in provincial lotteries, so that being said, we've moved past a few delays and charged on forward with our material. You will see an update in conent coming shortly, and i'll be as vague and mysterious about as i will be straightforward about it.
I hope advancements in Li-Fi tech come sooner than later. It's been difficult for me to do anything today due to the weather here in canada (snow..finally!) because it makes the wi-fi signal weak in our glorious apartment here in Toronto. So hopefully this rambling message will get through to you, dear reader, and start your new year off with us getting your brain and body moving and hopefully laughing a little a my nonsensical lines of introspective.

Pareidolia (/pærɨˈdoʊliə/ parr-i-DOH-lee-ə) is a psychological phenomenon involving a stimulus (an image or a sound) wherein the mind perceives a familiar pattern of something where none actually exists. -wikipedia
yes i dislike using it as a reference place, no i'm not ashamed to stop doing it either as my time to writing these is typically limited. we have been hard at work getting underway with the EP and it's been EXTREMELY difficult as this type of project is sort of new to all of us involved; new tech and compositions. we're so excited to be creating unbound we've been working on a lot of projects at once, the visuals (cymatic frequency resonator) are getting to be very trippy. working with macro camera tech, trying to get my microscope to work to record the images as well is painstaking, but the end result will look boss.
so the reference in the title? when a brain sees something that isn't there? yeah, we would call that a reference to our recent federal election here in Canada, as the brain really did see something that wasn't there. all we can hope at this point is our country sees some real progress in art and scientific funding renewed. grants restored and research put back on the forefront. knowledge is nothing without imagination, so we hope our new government will be creative and inspirational, like the people the artists that shape this country's landscape.
i had the privilege of attending The Tea Party's concert for Canada's Walk of Fame inductions, and they played their album 'Edges of Twilight' in it's entirety. for those of you who have never had the pleasure of listening to Canadian Rock it goes like this "everyone else sounds different and better than Nickleback". that's rule number one. number two? most canadian bands explore their east coast cultural roots. celtic style drones and the sound of the ocean. or west coast mountain acoustics on mushrooms (the tea party's song shadow of the mountains). nonetheless, it's another example of a band that gets a little less recognition than they deserve for being amazing musicians and artists who have their own unique vibe. (expired link). jeff martin playing the hurdy gurdy and blowing my mind. who plays a hurdy gurdy at a rock show and makes it rock? the tea party, that's who.
so point 2 about the title; i ran a whole whack of band images through fractal generators and suppose "AI's" that were like Google's Deep dream and we got some interesting band photos out of the lot that i'll be posting. also shortcoming will be another cymatics video, as well as THE 'cymatics' video and who knows, maybe by the next letter i'll try to reinvent gravity.

99.9 percent space. so what the hell is in the rest of it? i've been intently following the resonance project and dr. nassim haramein's work with great fascination. the highlight of the week has not just been making new music based on visual cymatics and vice versa, but getting ready for tomorrow's modern knowledge 2015 tour featuring the good doctor and his work on quantum gravity, the holographic mass and paper about the reexamination of the charge radius of a proton. On the other side of the same coin, i'm very excited to hear alex and alyson grey speak about 'cosmic creativity.' i'm nerding out beyond belief.
what's bizarre is the looks i receive from individuals when i tell them what event i'll be attending. 'huh?' .you're doing what??' 'how the hell is that any fun?' the answer is simple: i'm a nerd. i love to learn, i love to educate and most importantly; i like to think. so a day of challenging my notions of the universe? yes please.
so because i'm in such a fantastic mood from not having to work an extra 12 hour shift on a sunday, here's two things. thing the first, we shot a cover video of NIN's 'Only' just because we love NIN, the song was fun to remix and why the hell not make a video of it. thing the second, new track. this one is called 'into the downspout.' why?, because we are preparing for a fall release and i love making new music for people to hear. what's going to be even more boss? performing the shit of it.
that's all for now.

Cymatics (from Greek: κῦμα "wave") is the study of visible sound co vibration, a subset of modal phenomena. Typically the surface of a plate, diaphragm, or membrane is vibrated, and regions of maximum and minimum displacement are made visible in a thin coating of particles, paste, or liquid.[1] Different patterns emerge in the excitatory medium depending on the geometry of the plate and the driving frequency. -wikipedia
That was the idea behind the new material. obviously it isn't in inaudible tones just to produce patterns, but designing a song based on the interpretation of visual images produced by cymatics. for myself, it was influenced a bit by Evan Grant's work with bjork, not the songwork itself, but the visual patterns that the initial piece of music had before i laid down some of my work with the track.
nonetheless, we're happy to release another track for your listening pleasure.
stay positive. life moves to the beat.

usually i'm not so brief with updates, i prefer to take my time and actually give you something worth reading, but unfortunately, i am knee deep in the dead so to speak, i'm a funeral director or mortician by trade, so the best i can do this week is to give you new music. This is our song 'the very same fluid..' completed as a demo with all the additional instruments and some very lovely vocal work by our singer cristien. over the course of the summer, we'll be introducing a slew of new material, culminating with the EP release late in the fall. so until two weeks from now when i have better thoughts and more music, eyes to the sky my friends.

we've entered into new and uncharted territory here, as if finding a new boson, a new species, a new form of life, however you want to go about it one thing is clear; new things are coming. well, relatively new to us, but the they may have been here all along waiting to be discovered.
i guess i mean our new EP, our new line up, our new enthusiasm which will be building in the next little while. new tracks are being recorded, and old ones being redone with far better quality. to those who subscribe it's amazing to see responses and well wishes towards what we're doing. it's only going to get better from here.
as for the amateur enthusiastic science blogging, and photography and videography goes, we're working on new subjects, but first we need to make the sound waves in order to communicate the thought. then i can try and propose the though to you in english instead of nonsensical gibberish. thanks again!

Magma is a molten and liquid rock that is only found below the earth’s surface. That is because once it reaches the surface it becomes lava. This substance is made up of a combination of dissolved gases, rock fragments and crystals and the liquid part of it is referred to as the melt. Because of its creation due to high pressure and temperatures, this is an extremely hot substance, ranging from 1,292 to 2,372 degrees Fahrenheit. Frequently you will find this substance pooling in magma chambers which can feed volcanoes. It can also intrude into nearby rocks, rise to the surface in the form of lava or become an explosive ejection of tephra. -(expired link)
i just want to think of something warm. like liquid hot magma. it's -20 degree celcius outside, yes we got hit with what feels like a metric shit ton of snow and my only thought is how much i'd like to be at home by the fire. or beside a volcano.
also, here's a random photo from artwork i'd been playing with before a mountain of white death got dumped on our heads. i had accidentally hit the contour button on photoshop, but it looked kinda neat, so here ya go. been working on artwork mostly while we fine tune new material and figure out all this new equipment we've been hoarding and practicing with over the winter. i'm positive new music will be coming soon, because we'll be doing nothing but working and staying indoors from the weather. although it's hard to be certain; the rodent meteorologists are confused as to whether the spring will come early or not. nonetheless, i'm hoping to use the time productively.

winter has come into full effect. not sure how it is in the rest of the world, northern parts i mean, but here? it's frickin' freezing. that full on flash freeze of boogers when you take in a deep breathe through your nose. refreshing, yet horrendous. it's damn near impossible to keep warm. speaking of which, please be kind to homeless in this season. i know people usually think they're awful or a blemish on a city, but they are indeed people who will die out in this frigid hell if we do nothing. it has already happened here in toronto, and there was a panicked rush by bureaucracy to correct the problem too late. and why the hell would we not be prepared for this in TORONTO...really? a little compassion goes a long way, if can help, HELP.
i was also unaware that this 'polar vortex' was essentially a large scale cyclone over northern canada and the pole. huh. thankfully mother nature in reality isn't quite like hollywood and we will certainly survive the day after tomorrow...and hopefully well into the future by conserving natural resources but that's another topic for another day. all i can say is i, personally, am enjoying it. mostly, because i can't stand extreme heat, and since the world is getting hotter every year, i'm soaking in the cold as much as i can before it's gone, and can only be brought back by nuclear winter.
there is another instrumental we have been working on, or demo completed, that is called 'polar vortex' i think it was originally titled 'the stomping cyclone' so weird how that comes together. weird blend of rock and electronics. so this one isn't technically being 'released.' the way to get a few new tunes is by responding to this email blast with the request for the song. all you need to do is type 'polar vortex' and i'll send you some music from TTA.
bundle up, enjoy the briskness and if you're already somewhere warm, well, i hate you. :P

have you ever stopped to think about the way you touch something? the perceived sense of touch i guess i mean. it's an interesting concept really, that we all THINK we're actually in contact directly with anything. i'm pretty sure this stems from lingering discussions over an episode of known universe, but it has my brain stirred this morning. much like my espresso.
it's bizarre really. that the field from the electrons repelling each other keeps you from ever truly touching anything. that sensation is just forces on your nervous system. the force is called the Coloumb repulsion if i read that correctly, well, that electromagnetic force defined as coloumb repulsion (and no i won't cite sources, it's too early. fuck, i shouldn't be sciencing this early.) philosophical or existential almost right? our bizarre reality. and it got us thinking about the next part, so essentially, the only combined biological fusion could be when the sperm and egg connect; atoms actually meeting and undergoing an enormous energy release: when two things ACTUALLY meet.
(expired link)
the above is to a link to the summary of a paper entitled 'Quantitative mapping of zinc fluxes in the mammalian egg reveals the origin of fertilization-induced zinc sparks'
underneath is the youtube link. watch. kinda looks like a mini sun when all the zinc atoms are released, does it not?
(expired link)
anyway, i snuck in another demo instrumental called 'the very same fluid...' as a companion piece in the male form to our demo 'quiver.' i guess quiver was mean to be the act and then the next 'movement' so the speak, tongue in cheek, would be the trip ummmm....'inside' as genetic material. the visualization i had for the longest time was the trip down the tubes, moments of conception etc etc, then i realized QOTSA did that for their video 'go with the flow'. and they did it much better, soooo i'll leave you with the music instead while visions of ovums dance in your head. or sperm. or sugarplums, or whatever your trip is.
