To produce and co-engineer her own album featuring all original music. Tamara Venus Star emerged as a figure of the folk-music revival of the early 1990s when, accompanying herself on acoustic guitar, she has been singing what has been labeled as progressive tribal-folk rock or neo-folk rock songs of her own creation in the mountains of the Northern California Foothills. Growing up in the colorful, artistic community, Tamara has been able to nurture her instinctive musical talents. Inspired by nature, most of her songs have been written deep in the woods among the Native American culture of the region. Her poetic lyrics that so richly intertwine nature and the soul, are inspired by her environment and her own deeply spiritual beliefs concerning the sacred mysteries of the Earth. Tamara sings in a distinctive, clear voice and has been described as giving a dynamic performance who observes the world with a poetic eye, with poetic influences ranging from local beatnik poet Gary Snyder to the writings of Rumi and Hazrat Inayat Khan.
