Born in the Bushwick Section of Brooklyn, New York 1978 Steve”MugshotOne”Cadet-Bey.
Fell in love with more than just the music of the emerging hip- hop culture, more or less became in a sense a living embodiment of the culture. Started break dancing at the age of 3 just before I moved to Essex County(East Orange,NJ). So everything I approached was through the ideals of a b-boy, my transition was from a b-boy to a Graf writer (from the age of 10-till now..),then from a Graf writer to a poet(age 10 –till now) .After my older cousin got shot that following year my poetry transformed into the pain I felt then I over stood that was the beginning of me being an Emcee. I’ve always had respect for the back bone of the culture which is the (expired link)(Turntablists) so it was only natural after I felt I’ve mastered my craft to learn some ill scratching techniques..but that brought forth my last evolution to beat making and audio engineering. It wasn’t until 1996 that I actually decided on working on some music. My stagename is an acronym that breaks down as such
