Hello, everyone! The following is a question posed by Dale, and others, followed by my response. I thought I'd illustrate it to kill many birds with one stone, so to speak:
Hello, I’m not a fan of your genre but your song Think of You caught my attention while I was browsing playlists on here. How do I buy your album on here?! Peace.
Hi, Dale! Thanks for writing. To answer your question, I don't currently have anything that I'd deem suitable for sale. I am, however, sitting on years of undeveloped material. The one song I posted is a preproduction that I whimsically uploaded when I happened across this site. But, I must say, considering the great response I've received here, as well as a few other venues, I'm encouraged to take things to the next level. In fact, just this morning, I had a rather lengthy phone conversation with a very well respected and capable sound engineer. He and I will be getting together at the studio on the 16th of October to discuss the particulars. I really appreciate your interest in my material and your expressed desire to hear more. Yours and the encouraging words of so many others here, and elsewhere, is just what I needed to get me going. Hopefully, before the end of the year, or by the end of the first quarter of the next, I'll have something uploaded. When it comes to selling units, a product needs to be professionally done, and that costs money. So, bear with me. I'm just your average joe, not backed by some major label, and that's just fine with me. Regardless, I'd much rather be grass roots anyway. If I were offered a budget by a major today, I do sincerely believe I'd turn it down, given today's technology and ease of entry into the market. These aforementioned facets allows anyone to get their music out there to let their sound be heard. Of course, that's both good and bad because there's a lot of garbage to sift through, too. But, on the good side, there is no keeper of the gate, but all power to the people to approve or no. I prefer this business model much better. Who knows, perhaps I'll ultimately resort to crowd funding, providing those who believe in me a stake in some creative way. What do you think, Dale? Lol! Just kidding. Anyway, thanks Dale. Didn't mean to be so verbose in my answer to you; but I wanted you to know that I really appreciate you and others like you. Actually, I think I'll broadly post your inquiry and my response, as the question has been put to me quite frequently. I hope you won't mind. Anyway, take care. And, again, thank you for writing. TED
