Soulful, Powerful, Smooth, Melodic; are words that come to mind when you hear the singing voice of Tenia Jenkins. Tenia born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, comes from a family of talented musi Hailing from Baton Rouge Louisiana, Tenia Jenkins aspired to be a jazz singer years before she transitioned into gospel music. Singing background for a number of artists for years, she’d decided in 2005 to branch out as a solo artist. She started working on her debut Jazz EP when she was called to make this shift to Gospel music. Immediately after this epiphany, she began to hear melodies that would make up some of the songs from her debut project “Take Over”.

She solicited help from a good friend and writer Mrs. Chanell Blakely as well as others, to assist with the writing process. From that collaboration the title track was penned and created. She went on to enlisted producers Garth Banton of Glain Muzik, Garth Hunter of Shadow Time Entertainment and Byron Douglas of Kingdom House Productions, to put the finishing touches on her project.

After years of hard work and dedication to “Take Over”, she exhausted all of her funds for the project and risked not releasing it at all. Through the crowd funding website Indiegogo, she ran a successful campaign and raised all of the funds needed to complete and release Take Over to the masses.

In January 2014 Take Over was released digitally to highly enthusiastic reviews. Since its release, Tenia has been gaining a massive amount of fans from all over the world. Here’s what some are saying about Tenia Jenkins:
