About Tequila Jones

Born and raised in Durham, NC, Tequila Jones, grew up the only child of both parents. Growing up in a single parent household wasn’t always easy. Being a product of her environment, Tequila quickly realized that living in poverty was not the way she wanted to live for the rest of her life. Becoming a part of her high school marching band, Tequila realized that performing in front of large crowds was pleasurable. She then knew that entertaining people was something she enjoyed doing. As well as entertaining, Tequila always wanted to express herself through words. Highly motivating herself, Tequila started utilizing the pen and pad as a way to cope with everyday life. The southern bell expressed everything from emotions, ideas, and experiences, but only to later be recognized by her peers for her talent. Since then, Tequila has performed at various open mic nights at local clubs. Such as, the Sirens Lounge, The Marvell event center, The Armory, and NCCU talent showcase, and Club Nightlife. Just to name a few. Tequila has also been featured on “Foaming at the mouth” DVD and the Sandra Wilson Talk Show. Currently, Tequila is a full-time student at NCCU, where she is enrolled
