"Africana" in which Italian lyrics together with Neapolitan dialect are used seeing also a change in musical direction, now closer to rock, with the collaboration of Brian Eno.. more Teresa De Sio's first encounter with music, was the experience with Musica Nova, the ensemble that managed to merge folk music with song-writing toward the end of the seventies.
In 1980 she releases her first solo album "Sulla Terra Sulla Luna" which sees her as author of all the lyrics, finding in the Neapolitan dialect her personal way of singing. Two years later her second solo album "Teresa De Sio" is released containing super hits such as "Voglia 'e Turnà" and "Aumm Aumm” both these albums sell over five hundred thousand copies and her popularity is no longer in discussion.
