I know, you probably thought that I had been captured by aliens....No, but it sure seems like it. But I finally got 3 songs mastered and they are loaded on the page. All are marked with band version on them, because, well....I did them with band! It is Andon Davis on guitar. Paulie "The Human Metro-Gnone" on drums. And Bill Kavanagh on bass and harmonies. Hope this email finds you well and happy!

This might be the craziest thing I've done in a while, but I am headed back to the studio starting this Saturday. This project is a little more ambitious than I've taken on for a while.

I'd love to hear from you and get your feedback on what you'd like to hear. I've got Paul "The Human Metro-Gnome" on drums and Andon Davis on guitar. You've heard their work on my stuff before.

I am thinking about having some of the local Chicago music scene icons sit in on the project. Maybe having them do some of the vocals. I could have them add some guitar chops where it makes sense.

What I want to know from you is, would that make more interested in hearing the music? Would you rather hear more of the full band/rockin' it up approach or more of the mellow, acoustic style?

Please feel free to email me and let me know. I am always excited when I hear from the listeners. You are the real reason why I do this.

It's been a while since I've said hello. Hope you are well. Just added a new song (and video) to Number One Music. It is written about being abandoned and the story is told from the dog's point of view. I never liked the really sad animal songs, like the one on late night TV that after I hear the first two notes of the song I've already changed channels. Being abandoned is sad. But I like to think that there is hope. That is the story behind this song.

If you like it and know of an animal shelter that might like to use the song and the video, please have them contact me. It can be customized for them. Or, please pass the song on to your friends.

Just added a new video. It is called Nothing Left 2 Say. It is about betrayal. It isn't exactly the happiest song I've written. But, you know, happiness is relative. You can't appreciate happiness unless you've seen the other side of the coin. And this IS the other side of the coin.

Hey There!
Funny how life changes and comes back around to where we all started. These two new songs are a big example of that. Years ago I was so in love with a woman who only saw me as a friend and she would cry on my shoulder about her love life. So I wrote "Song For Your Sabbatical" We finally got together and were good for few years and then I wrote "Make No Apologies" She felt bad about dumping me, but, I understood. One of the new songs is "My Apology" which was written about a relationship where I was an epic jerk and ending up running away. My Apology is just that....The other new uploaded song is "Nothing Left to Say" which is another relationship song. When you are devastated beyond belief there truly is "Nothing Left to Say"

Hey! Hope you are having fun!
Some people said the Cubs would win the world series before I released another song....They beat me by 3 days. Good news! The song and video are out. This is the first one of the three songs and videos scheduled for November. Next Sunday (November 13) is another song and video. On November 20 I will be releasing the third song this month.

These songs are all different from each other and they are different from all the other songs in the way they were written. Usually I work fairly fast. This time I agonized over everything, every little thing. I think it was worth it. I hope you do too.

I'll be doing this again next year, but before November. The next set of dates hasn't quite been established yet. I'd like to see how this one goes and what I can learn from it.

My little fingers have been busy polishing up the latest 3 new songs and getting their videos ready to release. My fingers are tired but they are not about to complain about getting to do the work they love.

Hope all is going well in your world. Here is a new live version of Apocalypse Moon. this one is just me. In the studio version it was 19 layers of synthesizer but probably way overly self indulgent. This is stripped down to the basics. The audience, my guitar, and the song.

The world is a bit of a crazy place these days. You can stick your head in the sand and ignore it or you can face it straight on and call it for what it is. That is what I tried to do with this song.

Hope you like the song. Would love to hear your reactions.

PS: I had to rebrand from being the Big Silver Daddy. I kept getting all these emails from young men in India. Apparently Big Silver Daddy has an entirely different meaning there than it does here. OOOOOPPPPPSSSSS! Chalk that one up to cultural cross up. Live and learn....

First, thanks for writing in. I appreciate your comments. I do read them all. I respond through NumberONEmusic but I wonder if it gets through. Sometimes I end up the email in my email box. Is that copy? Is that a confirmation? By now all of this should be figured out. Please keep commenting. It is inspiring.

Progress is at hand. I have the scratch tracks down and we put more into Planzilla, which is the road map I use for keeping track of all the details. There is a lot to track We are getting there.
