About THE F.A.C.E
The Frank Antonio Cunningham Experiment is Frank Antonio Cunningham a multi instrumentalist who writes & records his music using only real instruments made of tree woods, metal, secret alloys, plastics of different ply ability & a voice that isn't auto tuned. He produces his works recording track by track (ie) drums, guitar, bass etc, etc, one by one, mixes it over & over learning the spots that need more volume, less volume, effects & so on until he basically has learned the "moves" for all the levels & plays the recording mix of each individual song like a song, never "flying" or "pasting" the best parts together, he just plays the parts the best he can, to put together songs that have definite integrity. He comes from a musical family, some of his earliest memories are from when he was 3 years old & his father playing an Epiphone Wilshire guitar, & the smell & sound of the Fender Vibrochamp churning out Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison songs, & being hypnotized by the sound & that ruby red light that shined from said amplifier. He began playing drums at 12 years old, around the same time his father taught him guitar boogie on the very same Gibson flat top that his Father performed with way back as "Ramblin Frank Cunningham". Frank persued music as the drummer for many bands in as many styles, all the while dabbling with the guitar that was always in a corner of his family home. A move to California with his girlfriend in the 80's was in order it seemed if the glam band he drumming for was to reach for any type of fame, but that only lasted a year & a half, but in that year & a half he had the experience to play at many of the famous clubs that his favorite bands played, like "the whiskey a go-go " & such. When he & his soul mate & future wife Michelle finally moved back to Illinois he continued to drum in progressive metal bands to blues bands (which included a few with his father in law on saxophone )but soon tragedies would plague his home life in the passing of his parents in rather quick succession, the most devastating being his sister Antonias passing falling on his 33rd birthday. Then the economy fell apart & he lost his daytime job, so he poured himself into really learning the guitar so he could write songs to help deal with such grief (the songs here are only a portion of those) then they lost their home just like millions of people did, & they were forced to live in a seedy tiny motel room, where the creation of his music stopped. The motel did give him the chance to hone his guitar chops good enough to play blues guitar on the streets of Zion & Waukegan. And that is where he is now, somewhere out there playing the blues.
