About The Flammable Mammals
In this era of political correctness singer songwriter Glenn LePine calls on his alter ego The Flammable Mammals to express his thoughts and social commentary on the world around him. Glenn sings all the parts and plays all the instruments on this CD. He has had many experiences in his quest to thumb his nose at the status quo. Along with various friends he has played at political rallies, anti-war rallies, outdoor festivals, clubs, and college campuses. He shared the stage at the Sierra Music Festival with folk icon Country Joe McDonald and has even opened shows for Elvin Bishop and Prairie Home Companion guitarist Pat Donohue. With song titles like Spankin The Monkey, Minimum Wage, Cruise Missiles and Paved in Blood his goal is write protest songs for the new mellinnium - cause we're gonna need em..He was involved with MCR Records and was featured on several compilation CDs (all the proceeds were donated to charity). That's not to say that all his songs are social commentary in nature. Glenn does throw in a healthy dose of acoustic rock and blues as well as electric rock. Rollingstone Magazine thought his song Easter on Easter Island was nothing but drinking and partying and what else does a good rock and roll song need. A feature story in the Sacramento Bee stated that the Flammable Mammals are "rock and roll animals". Glenn has been influenced by many artists but doesn't try to sound like them.
