The Have Nots formed in 1996 with the line up of Paul Gray, Joey Jordison, Brian DuBay, Greg Welts and DaVo. The band was short lived as Paul's side project Slipknot became increasingly demanding on his time. The band broke up in late 1997 with the plan to reform under a different name.

The Have Nots formed in 1996 with the line up of Paul Gray, Joey Jordison, Brian DuBay, Greg Welts and DaVo. The band was short lived as Paul's side project Slipknot became increasingly demanding on his time. The band broke up in late 1997 with the plan to reform under a different name.
Over the years, Paul and DaVo talked about reforming and in fact Paul was working on a new line up shortly before his death in 2010. In 2016 DaVo reformed the band with a completely new line up to play the anniversary of Paul's Birthday. Since they have continued to play off and on.
