The Instant Karma are a John Lennon tribute band, active in Switzerland and Italy. They come from Lugano, in the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland.
All the musicians have a long experience and two of them, Rocky and Max, are also members of The Nowhere Land, official Beatles tribute at the festival Bellinzona Beatles Days, which takes place every year in the capital of Ticino. The Instant Karma have recently performed at the latest edition of the festival, in August, during the “Beatles Night” concert.
The band is composed by five members, plus two additional vocalists for the gigs in bigger venues. They are Rocco Cappa (Guitar and Vocals), Max Moretti (Bass and Vocals), Alessando Merigo (Lead Guitar and Vocals), Salvatore Succurro (Keyboards) and Robby D’Angelo (drums).
John Lennon is often thought to be just the leader of the Beatles or the author of iconic songs such as Imagine. The aim of the band, instead, is to play the repertoire of a versatile and multifaceted artist for a wide audience. Thus the Instant Karma start from the most well-known songs written by Lennon himself, such as Imagine and Jealous Guy, going through Beatles’ numbers like Come Together, Revolution, full of powerful energy, and then making a tribute to Lennon’s favourite 50’s and ’60 hits such as Be Bop a Lula and Stand By Me. Finally, a bunch of songs from the other three Beatles solo careers. To sum up, the band makes a varied and energetic show.
