In 2001, a guy moved across the hall from me in my high school dorm and I noticed that he had a nice Fender Strat. I asked if he'd like to start a band. In 2002, a drummer joined us and we rocked out until 2003 when I graduated and everyone went to their own far corners of the country. In 2004, I thought I'd try to re-create the style of the band from high school on my own. The Lasik Eye was born. I recorded 4 songs with some crappy equipment but even though it sounded rough, people liked it. Years later, I had enough equipment to record with better sounding instruments and wrote a song here and there until I had 10 or so short songs. I got an email from N1M asking me to put it on their site and it took off like a wildfire! I couldn't believe it! As for the name, The Lasik Eye, I was straightening merchandise at the store I worked at and tried like hell to think of a cool name. I couldn't think of anything that was good enough or not already taken. Frustrated, I said to myself, "The first sign I look at driving home will be the name of the project." I looked up and saw a sign that said "Lasik Eye Clinic" and said, "That's it, then."
