About The Murders
The Murders were a four piece indie rock/new wave act from Boise, Idaho, USA, and were active from 2004-2009 before disbanding. Originally The Murders was started as a solo project in early 2004 by Jacobb Sackett (Vocals, Guitar, Synthesizer), but soon Ashley Sackett (Nitchals at the time) joined on bass and synthesizer. In 2006 James Litke was added for lead guitar and Hawk Dobbins joined on drums. The Murders played many live shows in and around the Boise, Idaho and Portland, Oregon areas. They opened for other indie acts such as The Epoxies, Phenomenauts, and The High Violets. One album was recorded during the five years of the band's existence, a self titled and self released LP in the summer of 2008. Containing 15 tracks, "The Murders" highlights the band's best material and includes two live tracks as well. In the summer of 2009 James and Hawk officially left the band and drummer Jim Janeiro was added to make The Murders a trio. In late 2009 The Murders disbanded, and Jacobb and Ashley formed experimental act The Finer Points Of Sadism (FPS) soon after.
