Takes me Back!
Echoes of Chicago, back in the day. So good that you also have your own sounds as well. Very well recorded, as you can hear each individual instrument. The vocals sound really good. The keyboards could be turned down just a little bit, but they are not bad at this level. Love the break in the middle with Carnival Barker talking. Very different and inventive. Overall great song, and great sound. The drums are on point, and the horns sound very good. Keep up the great work. Sincerely Edward Westbrook "Atomic Energy Society" P.S. Green with Envy
One of the things I enjoy most about Number One Music artists is the newfound ability to hear music from around the world by singers who I'd never have the chance to listen to otherwise. That, in itself, is a great thing. Here, with this song the organ music starting out the song and mixed throughout gives this song a fun 60's kinda Austin Powers type of vibe. The singer harkens back to an era long gone - in a good way. Hello Tom Jones, What's Up Lovely Shades of Green?!

A lovely song
I have been trusted the honour to review this song. It makes me happy. It´s the best song I´ve heard on N1. This is a group I hope it´s just a question of time before the big break. "I am a man with zero tolerance"....what a catchy start up line perfect and that lovely switch to 3/4. The bassline an harmonies and the vocal and the melody is just a perfect combination. Since I really love this music I´m gonna go through som details about this song. The electric piano is great but it needs to be thined out slightly it takes a little bit to much room in the mix in that speciffic register. it´s very common to play Rhodes through a slightly distorted tube guitar amplifier to create som edgy clearity. Its very cool with that pretty cheap sounding brass synth. For me the relation between the piano and the brass synt could be worked out better...it feels it a bit random....it´s like everything plays on the same beats. I would sort it out more planned and give the two instrument a little bit of air giving reverbation. It´s something very attractive with this pretty dry production but i think some instruments have to be aired up....everything is very in your face. I guess the overall impression is that it´s somewhat sponataneousely made the whole thing but with an absolut brillant sence for song writing and skilled musicality. There is a swedish group called Atomic Swing that had a one hit wonder in the Nineteens, it´s something in this that reminds of that song called Stone me into the Groove. I think you can find it on Youtube. I wish you the absolute best. I think you really need to dig in to arrangement and production seriousely or maybe it´s just charming as it is. It´s also bad to loose that lovely directness. Thank you for letting me review this song it was a pleasure.

"Lovely Shades of Green" by The Olsen Brothers Band
"Lovely Shades of Green" by The Olsen Brothers Band from Vermont/USA is a nice Blues Poprock Track. The Organ Tune fits really nice in the ear. A great Bassline and a very wonderfull production.

Music Too high : trop forte

Nice!!
I like the production sound and originality. Good job!! I can feel the heart in this showing you put in some dedicated work. I like the lyrics, nice flow and the smooth sound, I can dig it!!! Sounds like the studio vibe was chill and relaxed!!!!! More artist should study the roots of their culture of art more to be better at their own art. Keep up the good work and stay in the lab creating new material to stay fresh and on your toes. Peace!

Good vibrations
A surprise, a very pleasant one. I'm so glad I found this song here. I was genuinely caught at a first glance. Didn't exactly see it coming. Firstly, an overall vibe is so retro but fresh and positive. It takes you on a ride and doesn't let you leave until the end. It is a big quality. Personally, I like this genre and I am always happy when somebody makes something like this. The song structure is solid, also the main harmony and top-line. The arrangement is fit for this genre and very catchy. The vocal performance is up the par with the rest of the song. Nice, warm, expressive vocal, just as it should be for this track. I wish these guys lots of luck, and a big break soon!

Band ?
Hi Guys , so just the two of you ? or a band as in , paid muso's to track in the studio ? I like the song , very well composed , I like that multi genre / style kind of unpredicted mix match of parts put together to keep the listeners interested. Very well tracked and the mix compliments all the busyness that's going on . Great separation between instruments and the vocals sit really well in the mix , even the filtered parts ( megaphone ) , I'm not sure how big the drummers kit is but I can hear toms and floor toms panned to both sides ( I find it a bit confusing ) not sure if this is deliberate or an oversight or maybe the drummer has a 40 piece kit ??? Overall though , great track , well recorded , mixed well and I'm now going to listen to the rest of your stuff Thank You for asking me to review , I like it when I hear new music and want to hear more . cheers guys ..................Squirty...................

Bop review
Love the intro of this song it sounds like a blend of steely Dan and Michael McDonald very moody jazzy organ styles and fusion. All of a sudden I hear the sound of Chicago with the brass happening like Saturday in the park.the vocalist has a voice of the band Chicago very nicely done engineered and produced very nice horn arrangements in the bridge like I said this band sounds like the 2020 version of Chicago very nicely done

Confusing song
The rhythms are difficult to figure out, while they meet the "beat", but are too much creating aural confusion. The drums, lack continuity. I've referred to this in the past for live bands as "the drummer is bored". When a song has a good strong beat, your foot automatically starts tapping to the beat, that doesn't happen with this as there is so much going on. A simplified straightforward drum pattern with far less rolls would work so much better. Clearly a LOT of work has gone into this, but as producers find, sometimes you need to back off what has been done and simplify it. The "Less is More" strategy on this song would improve it, because the song is hidden behind rhythmic confusion.

Great song
This song borrows from the mid 70's funk/jazz vibe. A song I easily could have heard a band like Chicago playing from that era. I love the time signature changes , and the instrumentation. Would be nice to hear a recording with real horns, but idea comes across clear even with samples. Vocals are great and the mix is nice and wide. Great job!

Lovely Shades of Green review
Well, let's start by saying this is a really nice song and I like it. But you have a few problems with how it is reaching the listener. I am hearing several areas in the mix that are not at the best levels. My best suggestion would be to take the song into a better studio and have a producer and engineer tweak it and possibly add some suggestions as to how to make it an even more powerful song that is very commercial. You also would probably want to trim it down, since most songs being accepted in the industry today are back to around three to three and a half minutes in length. You have a good song here... it just needs reworking by a better engineer/producer in a better studio. Good luck with it and submit it again if you take my advice. I'd love to hear it afterwards.

Fifty Shades of Sacharin
I thought the opening lyrical gambit was going to be "I am a man of zero talent". But 'tolerance' was the key here. I haven't got the heart to say what I really want to say. But then as Johnny Cash's future son-in-law, Nick Lowe sang in a dim and distant age - "You've gotta be cruel to be kind...in the right measure". So measure for measure, 'Lovely Shades of Green' has almost made my skin turn such a pale hue. A little too sickly sweet for my liking, but saying positive things, it possesses a fun and simple side. The Olson Brothers Band have put forth a piece of weird rhodes organ and crass synthesized brass driven heavily vocaled Californicated gorgonzola topped Americana with a bizzare Broadway musical feel. The middle eight is quite cute though with it's waltz breakdown being reminiscent of Henry the Horse dancing to the Fab Fours 'Being For The Benefit of Mr Kite' from Sgt Pepper. Pass the salt, I need something to take the sweet sacharin taste away. Hopefully it will brighten up someone, somewhere's day though.

Jazzy Lounge Soundtrack
This track has strong vocals that sit forward in the track. This reminds me of a song that would be in some sort of alternative comedy soundtrack. The organ has a clean tone & the song has a very jazzy feel. Nice work.

Nice song
Really cool song! I love the 70s vibe. Really cool lyrics and a very good voice; reminds me of an early version of the band Chicago! Critique... needs more bottom end. Bass is non-existent and the keys are really loud. A better blend, use a second or even third set of ears outside the band for mixing and get a really good master mix-down. Costs a little, but worth the money to widen the sound sonically and clean up errant frequencies. That's really the only thing. Great job!
