Dear Friends and Fans,
It is overwhelming how much you appreciate our music. We are a Greek Band called the Plaka Band. Plaka in Greek means "Fun" but it is also the name of the oldest district of Athens. That is where the ancient Athens was and to this day you can see the Acropolis and the Parthenon there. We have a lot of fun playing Greek Folk Music. Katerina Sherman on the Bouzouki and Baglamas (Greek Lead Instruments). She also plays the Harmonica, and the Base Guitar. My self Notis Contoplianos play Chords and lead and backup vocals. Our first CD is "New Songs of Old Athens" and it is an original. I composed all the music. The two tunes "Mia Strofi" and "Vre Gyroulou" are Mambo Style.
