About THE REAL XPRESS
Naquan Nevado Lee (expired link) XPRESS was born on April 4, 1989 to Jamaican immigrant parents in the Tremont section of the Bronx in New York City.
While music and such as artists as Biggie and Tupac were early inspirations. It wasn't until he moved to the predominantly Jamaican neighborhood of White Plains Road (also in the Bronx) that he was exposed to reggae and dancehall artists such as Bob Marley (of course!) Sizzla, Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, Jah Cure and Gyptian. The Result of this exposure would, a few years later, lead to an impromptu performance of a self-written track in the lunchroom of his high school (Sheepshead Bay High School.)
After high school, due to family and personal problem, XPRESS (as many youth do) chose the wrong path and the results of this included a short hospital stay. While in the hospital he asked the nurse for a pen and paper and hasn’t stopped writing since. Deciding to focus on the positive, this life changing experience continues to manifest itself daily with his writing and music. The goal being to use music to touch both the hearts and consciousness of not just his loyal fans but to all worldwide.
In 2009 XPRESS achieved another milestone with the release of the smash single “Fada God”. This single was in regular radio rotation with, any of the top Caribbean (expired link)’s in the (expired link) including Massive B on (expired link)’s hot 97. 2013 brought another step forward when XPRESS signed a management deal with Michael Frazer of Diction artist management.
