Number One Music is the first networking site for musicians that has actually worked for us. This site got the "special souls" listening to what we compose. When we say "Special Souls" we would like to explain.. Truth-The Shots' music is not an art for everyone, but it is an art for people who can get on the same mental level with us and understand it. Music is an Expressive art that you don't have to look at or listen to (you can merely walk away, change the radio, turn the song off,or listen to something else) THAT is the very thing that gives me butterflies, We scratched and dug and sweated our asses off for 4 years and in those 4 years we evolved from performing in front of small crowds of maybe 4-10 people at hole in the wall bars, to performing in front of crowds of 30-100 at Music Halls. We have noticed a lot of you take really well to our first song ever written "Alone". Well since you all love this piece of work allow me to take you all back to a simple little time in Sumter , South Carolina on March 12th , 2011 in an non air conditioned garage. We just decided on our band name The Shots nobody even knew we existed as people,Chad and I went over to Grady's for rehearsal, i believe it was one of our first 5 rehearsals, It started out as nothing more than a 3 minute pop rock like jam session. The rhythm from this jam stuck with us as we kept replaying it repeatedly from start to finish again and again, it had us hooked, so our drummer used the technique of 'Automatic Writing' . Automatic Writing allows a person to produce written words without consciously writing. He wrote each word that came to his mind without thinking at all, and the words came together. We were pleased with the lyrics enough to work them into the song. We decided to go ahead and try to record it . So we recorded the bass and drums on one track together and the guitar track individually. The tracks were put together and cleaned up to the best of our ability. We didn't have to do a lot of takes either, the song was done in one day. We maybe had to re do something once or twice but it all just fell together when really at the time Chad and I were 17 years old and we really didn't know what we were doing musically . XD Trust the fact we have come a long way now since then. Even though it was our first piece of work it was one of our most original songs, in our opinion it was not the best song, but the fact you all show an interest for it has made Alone grow on us. Maybe one day we can get all 206 of you here to a show and let you all in for free so you can wreck the place while we rock.
