About The Swear
The Swear deliver solid, scorching and sensual songs combining Green Day’s pop-punk with the darker sides of Hole and The Distillers. On New Year’s Day of 2006, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution chose The Swear as one of three city bands who should catapult Atlanta’s rock scene into the national spotlight. The group formed in Atlanta in 2004 – as writer/vocalist/guitarist Elizabeth Elkins joined forces with drummer Kent Aberle, bass player Kevin Williams and writer/guitarist Jeremy Zamora. The Swear has developed a large popular and critical fan base by touring steadily across the Southeast – where fans are immediately drawn to the band’s angular, hooky rock songs, unique lyricism and incredibly intense live shows.
The band’s debut CD, Every Trick’s A Good One, was named one of the Best Albums of 2005 by Georgia Music Magazine, Creative Loafing and The UK Street Voice. Produced by Russ-T Cobb at Butch Walker’s Ruby Red Productions and mastered by Howie Weinberg, the six-song album underlines the punk-rock power and pop songwriting gifts of the quartet.
In summer 2006, actor Dennis Leary handpicked the track “Deadfall” for use on F/X’s Rescue Me. The Swear’s recordings have also appeared on The WB (Smallville, Roswell), FOX (Reunion), ABC (Life As We Know It), TNT (Wanted), the Discovery Channel
