IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What city and state are you from?

THRAXXUP: I’m from Chicago, IL originally. I currently live in Clarksville, Tennessee. I moved down south after my mother realized that Chicago was getting bad. She wanted to provide a better environment for me and my family.



IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What is your music background?

THRAXXUP: I am basically your average joe. I started rapping back in the 5th grade at the lunch table with my friends with pens in their hands hitting beats on the table. I would sing in talent shows, sing Usher, sing in the shower. I fell in love with music. I grew up with music, and I became more in love with lyrics. I also fell in love with the west coast music scene while growing up in the 90’s. Basically I found my first love with music.



IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Why do you want to record and release your own music?

THRAXXUP: I want to motivate people through my gift of speaking to a generation of people who want a change. This is my life. I breathe, eat, sleep, and dream music! Rap isn’t a hobby, this is my career and I love what I do. Without music, my heart don’t beat. I want to show the world my side of music. TakeFlight music is cool, calm, and collective. I’m trying to spread my vibe through the world!



IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your songs about?

THRAXXUP: My songs are about past, present, situations I’m in or the people in my inner circle go thru. My songs tell a piece of me in every aspect from the beat I choose or from the lyrics I spit. Also my songs are about my future goals that I place upon myself or this generation



IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who is your fan base directed towards?

THRAXXUP: 16-45 years old male and females. I want to reach this generation. I want to be able to motivate and inspire others to chase their dreams because your dreams die when you let them! I can relate to the average person because I was walking in the same footsteps thru my own problems.



IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who are your musical influences?

THRAXXUP: Favorite rapper all-time is Nas! I credit the whole 90’s music scene to be honest. I’m a music-fanatic! From Dr. Dre, Snoop,(expired link)., Ice Cube, Ludacris, Queen Latifah, Dubstep. I listened to it all. I’m an open-minded person always wanting to master my craft. In my generation I listen to a select few Wiz Khalifa, J-Cole, Kendrick Lamar and a couple underground contenders. I don’t like to poison my ears!



IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: How would you describe your music to people?

THRAXXUP: I tell them that TakeFlight Music is music you can relax to, cruise with, and move with it if you can! I have a Triple C Flow cool, calm, collective. My music makes you want to get up and go be productive!



IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What makes you stand out from other artists?

THRAXXUP: My work ethic, my drive, and my determination of wanting to be great! I pride myself on being different. I am always trying to find the next best way to succeed hence my Take Flight motto. I want to establish myself as an icon not just as another artist! I face opposition and challenges head on and boldly overcome them. I see a task and I complete it. I never give up on the whole mission of succeeding.



IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are some upcoming projects you are currently working on?

THRAXXUP: I’m currently working on two mixtapes, and also I’m in the writing process of my first studio album (expired link). . I am also in the process of working a #LostBoyNationClothingLine I want to jump in the fashion world also. I’m currently planning a tour. Expect the highest from me I am going to Take Flight.



IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

THRAXXUP: I’m a competitor so I’m looking to win any and every award there is for me to win! I want to be a music legend, icon status. I want to be that guy that helps troubled teens and struggling adults trying to get through in life. I want to pay it forward! I see myself as one of music ‘s most iconic stars! I see myself touching crowds of people from USA to Japan! I see myself being that hard worker, that dedicated individual who has grown and still mastering his craft as one of the games’ most elite!
